Listed as one of the top 10 cultural symbols of Chongqing, the Tongliang Dragon Dance originates from the Ming Dynasty and later become even more famous during the Qing Dynasty. Chinese Dragon Dance is a mix of dance and acrobatics where a series of experienced dancers performs the imagined movements of this river spirit by manipulating an extended flexible model of a dragon with poles at regular intervals. The Tongliang dragon dancers are especially famous and perform all over the world, most notably in NewYork for New Year's Eve on December 31st, 2018 at Times Square.
