A winding cement road stretches far away, under the background of blue sky, white clouds, and green plants. A lady holds her daughter’s hand and walks home happily. The cold iron boxes of optical cables on the roadsides are turned into beautiful and cozy green pictures! On the afternoon of December 8, citizens who walked through Tanzishi Section of Nanbin Road surprisingly discovered differences here. More than 10 iron boxes including distribution boxes and optical cable boxes on the pedestrians looked like watercolor pictures.

“Beautiful! It’s so beautiful! These iron boxes are such beautiful scenery on Nanbin Road!” Mr. Zhou, who lived in Nanping praised while shooting with his mobile phone.

Where Did Those Paintings Come From?

All these pictures were from sophomores from School of Art, Chongqing Technology and Business University. They spent several days with the guidance of their lecturer Cheng Xiaochun.

Over the years, with the acceleration of construction of infrastructure in our city, Ironhide boxes, such as distribution boxes, optical cable boxes and traffic signal boxes standing on roadsides, are increasing, giving people an impression of coldness.

Nanbin Road, an exciting place to enjoy the beautiful scenery in Yuzhong Peninsula, attracts a large group of citizens and foreign tourists every day. In addition, it is a must to turn cold Ironhide boxes into cozy and beautiful pictures. Through demonstration by various parties, relevant department of Nanan District agreed with the idea of painting on these boxes to turn them into watercolor pictures.

“We use propylene pigment to maintain these pictures for a longer timer, free of fade in color even exposed to the sun and rain.” An undergraduate Li Zhuoran, who was painting, said, “Meanwhile, the pictures are mainly in watercolor style, including landscape, city landscape, cartoon, and other contents. We strive for a basically unified style and abundant scenes.” There are hundreds of such boxes, which will be painted with beautiful pictures of these students.
