During spring, everything comes to life. And flowers everywhere show a touch of spring. As the kite is a must in the season, let’s go fly a kite on a sunny day.

Zhaomushan Forest Park

Zhaomushan Forest Park is a small winding, gently-rolling mountain range. It stands in central New North Zone, an economic administrative zone in Chongqing. On the weekend, people will drive to the mountaintop known as a “natural oxygen bar” due to the fresh air. The large-area lawns are suitable for kite flying or camping. Because of the location, however, the lawns have some degrees of incline. Therefore, be careful when you fly a kite.

Nanbin Road

Nanbin Road, known as the “Bund” in Chongqing, is built along the Yangtze River for scenic views. It is also a place which photographers never want to miss. Additionally, Nanbin Park and Haitang Yanyu (literally the misty rain at Haitang Creek) Park offer great choices for citizens. Each spring will see a number of visitors fly kites on the wide and flat road. Furthermore, as it is near the river, the kite will fly higher with the help of the wind.

Pingdingshan refers to the small hill with a flat top. The park, Pingdingshan Forest Park, built along the hill, features mountainous landscapes. It has the superior geographical advantage in Chongqing’s Shapingba District.

Shanhu Ba

Shanhu Ba, with soft sand, is the largest sandbar on the left bank of the Yangtze River in Yuzhong District. For Chongqing people, this place is of irreplaceable importance to fly kites. Since the sandbank will appear during the dry season, citizens especially enjoy visiting there.

Nanshan Mountain

The broad Nanshan Mountain is an ideal place for kite flying. An overlook on the top will offer a panorama of Chongqing. What’s more, nearby is a lot of delicious food, including Spring Chicken, hot pot, fresh douhua (tofu pudding) and preserved meat. Tourists, therefore, can enjoy delicacies, fine views, as well as playing at the same time.

Chongqing College Town, located in Huxi Subdistrict and Chenjiaqiao Subdistrict, western Shapingba District, covers an area of 20 square kilometers. Back against Jinyun Mountains, the place covered with green plants also provides a full view of Gele Mountain. In addition to convenient transportation, it is flat as well, thus making it a great destination for kite flying. There are some students wandering around, which is adds to the ambiance of the campus.

Babin Road in spring always witnesses sunny days with warm breezes. Covered with rape flowers, it seems to be a colorful fairy tale world.

The park near the river is an ideal place for kite flying, and the outdoor barbecue is another choice. There are parking spots next to the park, as well as stone benches for tourists to rest on.
