The navigating ship has been completed. And it will go into service as soon as the supporting facilities in Dazhulin Dock are improved.

The opening of this route will further release tourism resources in the riverside landscape zone. At the early stage of the operation, it will adopt the “spot-to-spot” pattern without stopping on the way.

After the gradual improvement of facilities at docks along the route, however, it is planned to set up stops at scenic spots such as Hongyadong, Chongqing Tiandi and Ciqikou Ancient Town. Three ferries, with the capacity of each one up to 350 passengers, will be put into use. The one-hour single journey is 20 kilometers long. Tourists can then enjoy the beautiful scenery along the Jialing River from Chaotianmen to Dazhulin in Liangjiang New Area.

According to the introduction of Chongqing Shipping (Group) Co., Ltd., the next three years will witness the restoration of nine “Old Chongqing” ferry routes, including “Chaotianmen-Guangyang Island” and “Chaotianmen-Jiulongpo”. Therefore, citizens may have more choices for transportation, and meanwhile, the recovery of these routes will further revive the market for water tourism.
