According to the news of Jiangjin District, the New International Land-Sea Trade Corridor will greet a new member. On December 28, Jiangjin Railway Express of New International Land-Sea Trade Corridor will be put into operation. On the same day, the key project of China-Singapore (Chongqing) Demonstrative Initiative on Strategic Connectivity (CCI) — “Western China (Chongqing) ASEAN Commodity Distribution Center” will also officially inaugurate and go into operation.

Background of Jiangjin Railway Express

New International Land-Sea Trade Corridor centered on the operation in Chongqing created a new complex international land-sea trade corridor. Moreover, the trade corridor is open to the outside world for the western region of China. It is under the framework of CCI and the background of a series of national policies. In the meantime, it follows the economic industry development trends. To achieve the success of the trade corridor, it will go through international cooperation and regional linkage. The railway-sea transportation route will be taken as the main channel. In addition, 12 western provinces and municipalities such as Chongqing, Guangxi, Guizhou, Gansu, Sichuan, Yunnan, Shaanxi, Qinghai, Xinjiang, Inner Mongolia, Ningxia, and Tibet jointly built the New International Land-Sea Trade Corridor and set up provincial-level coordination mechanisms.

The Jiangjin Railway Express of New International Land-Sea Trade Corridor will open on December 28. It departs from Luohuang Railway Comprehensive Logistics Hub and arrives at the main logistics nodes of ASEAN like Singapore. Meanwhile, it uses railway, highway, water transport, aviation and other modes of transportation. Additionally, it will pass through the coastal border ports such as Beibu Gulf, Guangxi to the south.

Development of Jiangjin Railway Express

Currently, there are six routes available. One of the routes is from Jiangjin, Chongqing to Beibu Gulf, Guangxi via the railway. It runs both directions with cargos of domestic and foreign trade. With a distance of 1,200km, it takes 39 hours to complete the course.

On the same day of the opening of Jiangjin Railway Express, Western China (Chongqing) ASEAN Commodity Distribution Center will also officially go into operation. Furthermore, relying on the platform advantages of Chongqing Jiangjin Comprehensive Bonded Zone, the Center can directly provide bonded storage, bonded display, and e-commerce direct marketing services for the import and export commodities between Chongqing and ASEAN.

In addition, Jiangjin District is also making every effort to apply for the establishment of a cross-border agricultural products pilot zone. Also, the increase in trade between the western region and ASEAN has brought more adequate supply guarantees to the Jiangjin Railway Express.
