On December 2 morning, the 2018 Yangtze River Three Gorges International Marathon kicked off in Zhongxian County, Chongqing. 10,000 runners at home and abroad participated in and enjoyed the beautiful scenery in Zhongxian during their competition.

As the second full marathon in Chongqing, Chinese Athletic Association, Administration of Sport of Chongqing and People’s Government of Zhongxian County jointly organized the international marathon competition. In addition, the competition set 3 projects for it: full marathon, half marathon, and mini-marathon.

After the sign-up window for this marathon is open since August 8, marathon fans sign up actively. Additionally, 10,000 competition quotas have been taken up 20 days ahead of schedule. At the same time, there were more excellent competitors than last year. Moreover, in addition to those from the US, the UK, Kenya and Ethiopia, domestic excellent players such as Qiu Wangdong, Nianzhe Ati, Guan Yousheng and Zhao Hao also signed up for this marathon.

The participant arrived at the destination

Besides, the first marathon competition in Zhongxian County can trace back to 60 years ago. Yangtze River Three Gorges International Marathon reflects the changes in people’s life owing to national economic development. The local people hope that the marathon competition can continue to attract the public to enjoy the charm there.
