A Wonderful Contest to Tell Stories of Chongqing

Chongqing - As the only municipality in Southwest China, Chongqing stands at the joint point of the Belt and Road and the Yangtze River Economic Zone. To promote tourism in Yuzhong District, the Chongqing Scenic Introduction Contest started this April, to tell our stories vividly. After a three-month intense competition, the final kicked off on July 12.

Relevant publicity departments of Chongqing organized the contestContestants introduced scenic spots in Chongqing, especially in Yuzhong District. The organizer rewrote some guided commentaries and introductions to promote tourism in Chongqing. There were almost 10 thousand contestants who took part in this competition, including professional tour guides, college students, and primary and middle school students. The online interactive volume exceeded 1.8 million hits.

There were ten contestants respectively in the college group and professional group to give the scenic introduction to evaluators and audiences within six minutes, from a distinctive point of view. The winner of the expert group was Zhang Yanjun, who is from Shandong. She has become a professional tour guide for more than ten years. At first, Zhang came to Chongqing for mountains and people in this city. However, during her career, she introduced Chongqing again and again but never felt bored and loves Chongqing even more after a decade of studying the culture and history. 

The champion of the college group was Mise Achang, who is a Yi boy from Liangshan, Sichuan. He introduced Jinfo Mountain with some words in the Yi language and had both judges and the audience immersed in his presentation, as though standing in Jinfo Moutain and playing with birds in nature.

In addition to the Chongqing Scenic Introduction Contest, they also conducted four more contests. 100 Seconds’ Video for Chongqing presented 13 scenic spots from different classifications to promote tourism of Yuzhong District. Ace Training helped tour guides for Chongqing to enhance their understanding of their career and improve skills for better work. Furthermore, Interactive Experience for all people brought both citizens and visitors fresh experiences. Network Tourism helped to develop platforms for smart tourism.
