Alibaba Cloud Innovative Center (Chongqing), known as the Center for short, opened in Liangjiang New Area, and the CloudX plan has been released.

The opening ceremony is one of the exchange activities on digital new economy and upgrade of entrepreneurship and innovation (E&I) for 2019 National Mass Entrepreneurship and Innovation Week. Established by Liangjiang New Area, Alibaba Cloud Computing Co., Ltd. (Alibaba Cloud) and Tsinghua Technology & Innovation Holdings Co., Ltd. (THTI) in Chongqing Liangjiang Digital Economy Industrial Park, this marks the beginning of the Center's related services in Chongqing.

The Center is expected to incubate over 100 innovative SMMEs (small, medium and micro enterprises) and is the upgraded Chongqing E&I Demonstration Project launched by Liangjiang New Area, to promote high-quality E&I development.

Build a closed-loop system

The Center aims to build itself into a new functional platform and new powerful engine of Chongqing's digital economy. To achieve that, it will rely on Alibaba Cloud ecosystem and the platform provided by Liangjiang New Area, capitalize on resources in THTI and focus on incubating digital economy-concerned SMEs. Meanwhile, the Center will create a closed-loop system for the digital economy, including new technologies like cloud computing, big data, IoT, AI, mobile internet, virtual reality, and mixed reality.

CloudX Plan

CloudX Plan is to establish a CloudX community for professional technical developers, form a CloudX innovative friend circle integrating people with cross-boundary, original, innovative, entrepreneurial and creative elements, and operate an industry-education integrated CloudX cloud intelligent college cultivating regional digital economy industry talent.

10 enterprises have moved in 

10 enterprises have moved in and will incubate over 100 enterprises in different fields in the future

Currently, ten enterprises have moved into the Center, and over 100 enterprises in the fields of cloud computing, big data, internet of things, smart city and mobile internet (CBISM) will be incubated in the future. This center will combine the advantageous innovative talent in Tsinghua University and the science and innovation technology resources of Alibaba Cloud ecosystem, upgrade and promote regional technology E&I by incubating niche industries, focusing on cloud computing, big data, internet of things and smart city, building ecosystems, cultivating industrial talent and establishing collaboration platforms.

Provide Precise Services

Liangjiang New Area, Alibaba Cloud and THTI decided to cooperate to develop strategic emerging industries such as cloud computing, big data, AI, IoT, intelligent terminals, and integrated circuits by taking the innovative center as the platform, coordinating industrial chain, innovation chain, capital chain, policy chain, and talent chain, and building an open and innovative ecosystem. The center will attract leading enterprises, innovative and entrepreneurial SMMEs, talent in institutes and universities, and third-party professional service organizations from CBISM. Meanwhile, it will closely cooperate with Chinese and foreign high-quality enterprises, ecological partners, and technology development talent in the industry of the digital new economy. Moreover, the center will contribute to the construction of the iconic, innovative center in western China, which is driven by digitization and intelligentization, and provide precise services for the development of the new digital economy.

However, this is only a part of the decisions and arrangements of innovation-driven development strategy and mass entrepreneurship and innovation implemented by Liangjiang New Area.

Until now, Liangjiang New Area has attracted 37 incubation platforms above the municipal level, including eight national-level ones. Specifically, 2 of the 8 are incubators and the other six maker spaces, of which the former occupies 17% and the latter 14% of the number of respective categories in Chongqing.
