Over the past year since the settlement of Tsinghua Unigroup in Chongqing, the “intelligent security and AI,” Industry 4.0 intelligent factories, cloud computing, chip industry, and many other projects have been developing robustly.
Tsinghua Unigroup is a torchbearer of the large-sized comprehensive, integrated circuit around China. UNISOC, one of its subsidiaries, is the world’s third-largest player for designing chipsets in mobile communications for the public market. New H3C ranks first in China and second in the world in the subdivision field of enterprise-level IT service.
Among a package of plans promoted by Tsinghua Unigroup, the “intelligent security and AI” conducted by Unisinsight is the most noticeable one.
It takes artificial intelligence and big data as the core, aiming to provide a new integrated solution of security. According to Wang Hao, President of Unisinsight, the intelligent security products have successfully integrated the Group’s techniques in artificial intelligence, cloud computing, big data, general safety, Internet of Things, etc. The enterprise will also provide products and services of smart video cloud, smart multidimensional awareness, video picture processing, video parsing, algorithm storehouse, big data analysis, network security, and others.
In the class, what on students’ desks? Not only textbooks but also tablet PCs for each of them. The big screen showed data-based analysis about the examination for students: which should be focused, whose scores had been improved largely, the correct rate of each question, and who gave correct answers; all related information was clear at a glance.

The above-described scene is supported by a smart education program researched and developed by iFLYTEK, which has already been applied in many schools of Chongqing.
iFLYTEK is a big name in artificial intelligence, which takes over 70% of the market share in the Chinese speech technology industry. It has also launched many programs in Chongqing since its establishment in this city. Notably in 2018, China Intelligence Valley (Chongqing) Science Park, where iFLYTEK is playing a core role, was unveiled officially. It is planned to build a 200-billion-yuan big data smart industry cluster by 2025, thus lending strong impetus to the big data intelligence of Chongqing.
In recent years, artificial intelligence has brought a lot of new achievements in the medical field. With the establishment of Tencent’s southwest headquarters in Chongqing, the cooperation between the two parties has been boosted. For example, the AI system of Tencent Miying has served several hospitals in this city.
Officially launched on August 3, 2017, the AI system, combining image identification, big data processing, deep learning, and others, reached cross-border integration with the medical field. This technique will help doctors to screen and diagnose diseases and improve the accuracy rate of diagnosis and efficiency of clinicians.
In one screening test for esophagus cancer, this system takes less than four seconds to conduct an endoscopy, with the detection rate for early-stage esophagus cancer of 90%. As for screening for early-stage lung cancer, it can find pulmonary nodule from CT image data and judge whether it is benign or malignant, with the sensitivity rate of 95% and specificity rate of 90%.
Currently, Tencent Miying has been utilized by the First Affiliated Hospital of Chongqing Medical University, Fuling Center Hospital of Chongqing City, the Fourth People’s Hospital of Chongqing, Chongqing Three Gorges Center Hospital, The Ninth People's Hospital of Chongqing, the Third Affiliated Hospital of Chongqing Medical University, and others alike.
Six thousands of students and teachers of Chongqing Railway Secondary School can go in or out of the campus via the facial recognition technology, or smart access control system of the Future School Program.
Over 1,000 schools across Chongqing have joined in the Future School Program, launched by DingTalk in this March, to build digital and intellectual management platform. More than 30 of them have gained the title of Future School.
In Torch Primary School of Jiulongpo District, the digital management system of DingTalk has enabled the staff to check in, hold group discussion, apply for leave or curriculum schedule adjustment, ask for repairs, and conduct other daily works online. For example, thanks to this system, which replaced the complex paper-based procedures, leaders can approve the applications for leave even when being absent. Besides, It has not only saved the trouble of negotiation on the phone for curriculum schedule adjustment but also kept related documents online.
This year, the first super experience store of electrical appliances will open at P&T Plaza, Jiangbei District. Then, citizens of Chongqing will buy cool-tech products via the one-stop service and enjoy 5G-supported applications.
This store will bring a brand-new boundless operation in the retail field. This store will cover nearly 50,000 square meters, with the products of home appliances, mobile phones, computers, etc. and functions of retail, dining, and entertainment, thus satisfying customers’ needs of shopping, playing, and buying.
The store will be supported by the big data and AI algorithms from JD’s platform, take customers’ unique requirements as the core and customize good-looking, quality, and high-cost-performance intelligent home appliances. Meanwhile, JD’s 5G-based artificial intelligence will be utilized, offering up untold advantages of full-scene shopping and next-level retail experiences.
