Chongqing—The opening ceremony of the parallel session activity of China Tourism Day 2019 held in Zhongxian county Chongqing, on May 19th. A number of themed activities were held on the site of the ceremony, including the plaque awarding ceremony for newly added 3A and 4A scenic areas of Chongqing, as well as awarding of complimentary tickets for Three Gorges cruises to model workers, virtuous families, sanitation workers, and poverty alleviation officials. There was also an unveiling ceremony of the Zhongxian County Research and Practical Study Education Center.

Also, Zhongxian County further launched favorable policies such as free admission for Shibao Village, Baigong Temple, and Huatian Valley, and a special discount for rafting on the Dongxi river and live-action performances of the Three Kingdoms at War.

During China Tourism Day 2019, the districts, counties, and scenic areas of Chongqing launched nearly 10 themed activities, organized into exhibitions, fairs, competitions, events, and performances. The activities had different themes, such as urban tourism, rural tourism, folk tourism, spring tourism.

Among these, the most prominent ones were the cultural tourism activities under the themes of performance art, ICH craftsmanship, research and study education, and folk customs. For example, Nan'an District's Eternal Classic Music Masterpieces Featured Concert, Yubei District's Bring Culture to the Scenic Areas series performance, and Fuling's Ba People Folk Customs Performance and Experience.

China Tourism Day was held on a weekend by a lucky coincidence. To further encourage Chongqing citizens to take trips, Chongqing's districts, counties and scenic areas have issued a series of incentives including discounted tickets, and free admission during China Tourism Day.

For instance, the visitors might enjoy free ticket at Ba'nan's all A-grade Scenic Areas, Fuling's Wuling Mountain Rift Valley, Pengshui's Ayi River, Mowei Mountain, Chiyou Jiuli Town, Beibei's Jindao Canyon, and Wansheng Economic and Technological Development Zone's Black Valley. Also, a 50% ticket discount for visiting Dazu Rock Carvings and Qianjiang Balahu.
