There are many routes suitable for family items on weekend in the regions closer to the urban area of Chongqing. The museums in Chongqing have abundant collections that can enrich children’s childhood.

Yongchuan Museum + Shennv Lake

Yongchuan Museum newly opened with brand new environmental facilities. It has ancient Tang and Song simulation buildings, landscape and riverway, as well as 3 cross-river arch bridges. Meanwhile, all these sights are vigorously complementing the surrounding Shennv Lake. It is a comprehensive museum full of natural and historical-cultural relics. Moreover, its scale also ranks top compared with other museums in other districts and counties.

Visitors can go to Shennv Lake (Goddess Lake) after visiting Yongchuan Museum. They can see more than 40 scenic spots when walking each step on Huanhuyuan Road. Additionally, visitors can also watch distant mountains and lake water and pose in different postures in pavilions to get beautiful photos.

By Car: Search “Yongchuan Museum” through GPS

Public Transport: Take the train at Chongqingxi Station to Yongchuandong Station, and then transfer a coach to Yongchuan Museum.

Price: Both the Yongchuan Museum and Shennv Lake are free.

Chongqing Natural History Museum + Jinyun Mountain

The new venue of Chongqing Natural History Museum located at the foot of Jinyun Mountain in Beibei. In addition, the three-storey museum obtains a good reputation and free of crowded visitors. Visitors may not feel boring after spending several hours in carefully watching each exhibition hall.

It is suitable not only for adults but for family trips.

Visitors can climb Jinyun Mountain after visiting Chongqing Natural History Museum. In this season, the 2 ginkgo bilobas in Jinyun Temple are growing straightly to the sky.  The huge crowns connecting with each other, providing shadow against the sunlight and covering most of the Temple.

Public Trasport: Take CRT line 6 to Zhuangyuanbei Station, and then transfer bus 583 to Jinyun Avenue 2 Station.

Jianchuan Museum + The Mixc

The 8 theme exhibition halls of Jianchuan Museum decentralized-lie in 24 bomb shelters. It serves as featured museum settlement by using ordnance production caves during Chinese Resistance Wars as a museum site. Except visiting 8 libraries, darts games, mirror image experience, and other funny interactive activities also adapt to family activities.

After that, they can also take their children to the surrounding Mixc, where there are many suitable facilities for kids, as well as a ski field.

Public Transport: Take CRT line 2 to Yuanjiagang Station.

Bishan Dayuanxiang Museum + Tianci Hot Spring Resort

Dayuanxiang Museum is famous for the trip of Jackie Chan, a famous movie star in Hong Kong. The museum, located in Jianlong Town, Bishan, completed the reconstruction from a bankrupt porcelain factory there. It used the original layout of the five workshops of the porcelain factory. Also, the museum mainly includes figures of Buddha, stone carving artworks, horizontal inscribed boards, and woodcarving in architecture and furniture, and so on.

Merely considering woodcarving collections, more than 100 traditional residences in different times and regions and with different styles in China can be restored, in which thousands of statues are originated from the Ming and Qing Dynasties, even including Zizai Guanyin (also known the Goddess of Mercy in Chinese legends) in the Tang Dynasty with thousands of history.

On the way back, visitors can go to Tianci Hot Spring Resort to enjoy hot spring with an affordable price, and also enjoy beautiful scenery without crowded visitors.

Public Trasport: After arriving in Bishan, take the bus 801 to Laifeng Hospital Station.

Three Gorges Museum + Zhongshansi Road

Three Gorges Museum is undoubtedly an important museum in Chongqing. It’s worth mentioning that Southwestern Museum Alliance Bronze Culture Exhibition “Grand Banquet - Witnessing the Great Southwest in the Records of the Grand Historian” is being held there till January 6, 2019. During the Exhibition, 202 pieces of bronze ware from various museums are exhibited, in which 79 are first-grade cultural relics. The Exhibition is not only an important cultural theme exhibition in southwestern China but also the first integration of precious bronze ware from 5 provinces and cities in the southwestern region.

Visiting the Three Gorges Museum is a great way to enrich family trips for a one-day trip.

It takes about 10 minutes to walk from Three Gorges Museum to Zhongshansi Road. In this season, visitors can delightfully walk through these beautiful streets with warm sunlight.
