The long-awaited the 16th Jingguan Wintersweet Art Festival and Flowers and Trees Trade Fair opened in downtown Chongqing of China on January 5, 2019. The festival will last to January 27, when the Wintersweet bursts into blossom and fills the garden with its honeyed fragrance.
The opening ceremony took place at Jiangguan Highway Service Area in Beibei District.
Moreover, Jingguan Town, famous for its Wintersweet in China, is a good place to go for rural tourism. On the first day of the event, flowering Wintersweet, flowers and trees fair trade as well as the international highway bicycle open tournament constitute sub-event highlights.
Beibei Jingguan has a history of 500 years cultivating Wintersweet. Jiangguan Wintersweet popularity lie in its cultivated area, abundant categories, flower stem and floral fragrance. People coming here at weekends were immersed in the natural feast.
According to Beibei District, tourism combines benefits in economy, society and ecology. It is a "sunshine industry", which creates, spreads and shares beauty.
After the opening ceremony of the event, special exhibits at 72 stands from 150 enterprises have attracted tourists. The flower arrangement and horticultural and floral lecture were popular. Participants learned knacks to cultivating flowers.
Apart from tourists driving to enjoy the yellow touch in winter, 1200 global contestants competed in the HUGE International Highway Bicycle Open Tournament. The tournament co-hosts are Administration of Sport of Chongqing, Beibei District People's Government and Chongqing Express. It demonstrated "fitness for all" as both professionals for 55 kilometers and amateurs for 10 kilometers took part in the competition. Filippo Nicosia, Consul General of the Consulate General of Italy in Chongqing joined the tournament for 55 kilometers.
In addition, the raceway design integrated the elements of the city landscape and natural beauty.
