Find the fun arts in Chongqing: 6th Western China Hungarian Cultural Festival opened

On 17 Oct. 2018, the Opening Ceremony of the Sixth Western China Hungarian Cultural Festival has launched in Chongqing Art Museum. This exhibition will continue till 4 Nov. 2018 and is open to the public for free. 

The Hungarian artist Antal Molnár’s works Chongqing Garden and Portrays in Chongqing highlight the friendship between Hungary and Chongqing.  Portrays in Chongqing reflects the old and young generations on the same picture in Jiefangbei CBD, while Chongqing Garden shows a bridge in the E’ling Park. Interesting compositions are worth a trip to experience in the gallery.

The exhibition was organized by Consulate General of Hungary in Chongqing. The Consul General Lóránd Dióssi gave a speech in the opening ceremony to announce the start of following cultural events.  There are guests from different fields, Michihiko Komatsu, Consul General of Consulate General of Japan in Chongqing, Hou Baochuan, Vice-President of Artists Association in Chongqing, Dr. Buslig Szonja Andrea, Director of Beijing Hungarian Cultural Institute, and Deng Guanghuai, Deputy Head of the People's Government of Yuzhong district, Chongqing has attended the opening ceremony. The curators are Erdész László and Johannes Nicolaas Van Dam. Besides these guests above, the renowned artist Antal Molnár and famous director Attila Konnyu brought their paintings and films on the display. Gerendás Péter, a Hungarian guitar artist, performed Hungarian and Chinese songs in the ceremony. About 200 attendants witnessed the opening ceremony and visited the exhibition hall. 

Arts reflect today's Hungarian culture 

The exhibition features a wide variety of styles and genres, which including pop art expressionism, abstractionism, realism, and etc. It aims to comprehensively represent the contemporary art landscape of Hungary. In the exhibition hall, you can discover the 20th century to the early 21st century Hungary's contemporary fine arts on display. Painting, silk printing, and other forms of arts provide stereoscopic vision experiences for visitors. Hungary is known as the pearl on the Danube with cultural heritage. The exhibition is a good opportunity to showcase contemporary Hungarian arts with young artists’ breakthroughs and creative works.
