On November 28, the warm sun shined on the Science and Technology Museum in Jiangbei Town. Li Dingkun, a senior TV presenter and photographer in Chongqing, came to the new Jiangbei Town with old pictures from him shot 20 years ago. He intended to make a comparison between the scene in these old images and the new landmark. Meanwhile, he was planning to shoot a group of photography works named the “nirvana” of Jiangbei Town.
According to Li, in 1998 and 1999, they got the news that the Jiangbei Town was to be re-planned and reconstructed. His former leader asked him to make a special report on the changes in Jiangbei Town. So he went to the old streets and residential areas several times for shooting and interviewing. The old wharf, city wall, Jiangbei Park, Baoding Gate, were all collected in his lens.
Two-year's shooting has brought him a lot of precious images of Jiangbei Old Town. 20 years have passed. The year 2018 is the 40th anniversary of the reform and opening-up, which reminds him of these precious old images. Each picture tells the stories about that time, and he was most satisfied with his 70 pictures.
20 years later, when he went to the shooting places in the old pictures again, he was shocked and witnessed the earth-shaking changes in Jiangbei Town and Chongqing.
