Chongqing Jiangbei International Airport in downtown Chongqing serves as a transport hub in southwest China. According to Chongqing Airport Group Co., Ltd. and Chongqing Customs District, P.R. China, Chongqing Jiangbei Airport is becoming an international air cargo hub.

6 km²Chongqing air freight logistics and 3 million annual capacity

Land use for air freight logistics at the Chongqing Jiangbei International Airport is planned to cover an area of 9000 Mu (6 km²) with an annual freight capacity of 3 million tons. Currently, 230,000-square-meter air cargo terminals have been built, among which an area of 35,000 square meters is located in bonded areas), and theses cargo terminals have an annual capacity of 1.1 million tons.

11 cargo airlines operating in Chongqing

At present, there are 11 cargo airlines in Chongqing city. Among them, 9 operate international routes, mainly with B747-400F, B747-8F and B777F models, and 2 airlines domestic routes, mainly with B767F and B737F models. In total, the city operates more than 40 cargo flights a week, and the destinations of international (regional) all-cargo planes include Frankfurt, Amsterdam, Moscow, and Incheon.

366,000 tons of cargo and mail in 2017

In 2017, Chongqing Jiangbei International Airport handled a total of 366,000 tons of cargo and mail, increased by 1.4% compared to the previous year, among which 133,000 tons of international cargo and mail with an increase of 10.4% year-on-year. Outward goods are mainly laptops.

In the future, the Chongqing Jiangbei International Airport will endeavor to explore cargo routes to North America as the improvement focus, open routes to Africa and South America, and add more to Europe. All aims to meet the logistics demand for industrial development.

RMB 17.4 million worth of import and export goods in 2017, up by 15.3%

In 2017, the total import and export value of air transport in Chongqing was RMB 17.41 million with a growth rate of 15.3%. To be specific, an RMB 9.881 million export with an increase of 24.4% and RMB 7.16 million import, increased by 4.7%.

RMB 17.525 million worth of import and export goods from January to October 2018, up by 28.3%

according to the Customs, in the first 10 months of 2018, the total import and export value of air transport in the city was RMB 17.525 million, up by 28.3%, among which the export was RMB 10.185 million with an increase of 31.6% and the import was RMB 7.34 million with an increase of 24.1%.
