From the Chefoo Convention signed with British Empires, Longmenhao Street served as the Custom when Chongqing was as the treaty port. After one-year repair, the old street will open on September, 22, during the Mid-Autumn Festival.
Longmenhao Street locates in Nanbinlu Road, which is an amazing place with incredible night viewing of neon lights. The street is unique and irreproducible, and there are winding paths as well as open paths. It covers 15 thousand m2 with architectures of both Chinese style and western style.
Plants including roses, corn poppies, are widespread. Statistically, there are 25,000 flowers and 160 trees, covering 3,000 m2 green land.
Rugged landscapes of buildings lie by hills. All materials are chosen from old building or demolition areas, a brick, a tile, and even a stone. Windows of the site of the Italian embassy are made by old wood and old brick without any modern granites. Moreover, the villa site of the American embassy in old times will become a homestay in near future.
To keep vintage, colors of lights at Longmenhao Street are all archaic with warm-tone as the main. For better viewing, Longmenhao Street sets a lookout platform with gorgeous neon lights. The particular lights will be illumed after reaction when visitor walk or stand there.
It will take 2 hours to tour Longmenhao Street, and visitors can enjoy the retro cars, signboards, cableway, etc. Of course, you can embrace the vintage street for a whole day here for tea-tasting, reading, or relaxing.
