Related data shows that in 2018, the happiness of Chongqing citizens grew by 8.38% from a year earlier, 6.81% higher than the average level nationwide. The city implements a series of projects to enhance the quality of people's lives and promote people's happiness every year.

For example, the mileage of Chongqing's CRT lines has reached 313 kilometers, ranking fifth in China, and it has newly opened or adjusted 79 bus lines, adding to the 663 general ones.

In the last year, there were 316 days with healthy air quality. Chongqing has built 528 public parks, and the green coverage ratio in its developed regions was 40.43%.

In 2018, about 1.692 million poverty-stricken people had been identified and registered in its urban and rural medical insurance system. Meanwhile, nearly 1.37 million of them have already received assistance, totaling 170 million RMB. In 2020, Chongqing will realize the full-coverage of related policies to poverty-stricken rural people, that is, the coverage of basic medical insurance, critical illness insurance, and medical assistance will all reach 100% for this targeted group.

Smooth traffic flow, beautiful blue sky, and a favorable environment are all parts of the “code of happiness” for people in Chongqing.

In May 2018, Chongqing comprehensively implemented its Three-year Action Plan for Transportation, with all works carried out rapidly. Currently, the mileage of Chongqing’s CRT lines has reached 313 kilometers, ranking fifth in China.

The passenger volume of buses and CRT in Chongqing’s central urban regions accumulated to 2.7 billion, with the average daily amount of 7.45 million, and it has newly opened or adjusted 79 bus lines, adding to the 663 general ones. Chongqing has opened 120 new emerging lines for sightseeing buses, customized shuttle buses, airport shuttle buses, and special buses, with 518 new-type buses put into use.

As for aviation, this year will see the completion and operation of Chongqing Wushan Airport and Yongchuan Da’an General Aviation Aerodrome. Moreover, Chongqing is striving for the development of the terminal T3B and the fourth runway of Jiangbei International Airport. Therefore, it will strengthen the existing aviation hub and laying a solid foundation for Chongqing to build its international aviation hub.

This year, departments concerned will commit to building Chongqing-Wanzhou High-Speed Railway, Chongqing-Xi’an High-Speed Railway, and the Chongqing section of Chongqing-Kunming High-Speed Railway. Also, Chongqing will promote the progress of Zhengzhou-Wanzhou High-Speed Railway and the Chongqing downtown to Qianjiang section of Chongqing-Hunan High-Speed Railway. The city will also accelerate the preliminary work of Chongqing-Wuhan High-Speed Railway, Lanzhou-Chongqing High-Speed Railway, Chengdu-Chongqing Middle Line High-Speed Railway, and Qianjiang-Jishou Section of Chongqing-Hunan High-Speed Railway.

For expressway, the construction of Tongnan-Rongchang Expressway will be completed this year, and the expansion of Chongqing-Suining Expressway and Chongqing-Hunan Expressway will also start.

How good is the air quality of Chongqing?

Chongqing Environmental Statement 2018, issued by Chongqing Ecology and Environment Bureau, will give a data-supported answer. In the last year, there were 316 days with sound air quality, 13 days more than 2017, and Chongqing proudly experienced no day with heavily polluted air quality. In addition, the landscaping area in Chongqing’s built-up regions was 594.3 km2. It has 528 public parks, and the green coverage ratio in its developed regions had amounted to 40.43%.

Generally speaking, the ecological environment quality of Chongqing shows a trend of steady progress with good momentum for growth. Prioritizing eco-environment protection and focusing on green development have become the main emphasis of Chongqing.

Medical treatment: average per-capital hospitalization costs 1.52% lower

From Chongqing Municipal Health Commission, the whole city had already established 188 regional medical treatment partnerships of various types by the end of last year for facilitating people to seek medical treatment nearby. The achievements include all districts and counties covered, all tertiary hospitals involved, all types and grades of medical institutions included, and the outpatient rate of 91.2% in districts and counties. Around the city, the average per-capital outpatient and emergency treatment costs, hospitalization costs, and medical costs of inpatients had reduced by 3.46%, 1.52%, and 1.99% respectively.
