The signing ceremony

Governments of Chongqing, Guangxi, Guizhou, Gansu, Qinghai, Xinjiang, Yunnan, and Ningxia provinces will jointly build New International Land-Sea Trade Corridor（abbreviated as ILSTC below） in order to extend the network of ILSTC together. On 7^th Jan., the representatives from these 8 provinces came to Chongqing and join the signing ceremony of the framework agreement.

On Aug. 2017, Chongqing, Guangxi, Guizhou, and Gansu provinces had signed “Framework Agreement on Coordinating the Southern Transport Corridor of China-Singapore Interconnection Project” and formulated the “Synthetic Approach to Co-constructing the Southern Transport Corridor of China-Singapore Interconnection Project” to establish a Southern Transport Corridor Working Mechanism. On April 2018, Chongqing, Guangxi, Guizhou, and Gansu provinces had invited Qinghai and other 5 provinces to join the meeting of Southern Transport Corridor. Chongqing Initiative has announced on the meeting. Hence, Qinghai and Xinjiang provinces had joined the work mechanism.

Currently, ILSTC is on operating. Chongqing-Lanzhou, Gansu-Chongqing, Gansu-Guangxi, Guizhou-Guangxi, Guangxi-Gansu, Qinghai-Chongqing-Guangxi-Xinjiang cargos are all in operating. Overall, there are 805 cargos in total, which covered 71 countries and 155 gates. The international railway transport (Chongqing-Hanoi) has a total of 55 classes. The Chongqing-ASEAN cross-border shuttle has buses for 661 times; the service network extends from Vietnam, Laos and Myanmar to Bangkok, Thailand, Phnom Penh, Cambodia, Malaysia and Singapore.

On Nov. 2018, Singapore and China have signed The Memorandum of Understanding on the Construction Cooperation of the China-Singapore (Chongqing) Strategic Interconnection Demonstration Project ILSTC to further expanding cooperation. It has brought significance for the ILSTC’s construction. The cooperation signed symbolized the promotion of the "Silk Road Economic Belt" and "21st Century Maritime Silk Road", "the Belt and Road" initiative and the Yangtze River Economic Belt organically. It also stimulated the open development of China's western region, and deepen the links among the China-ASEAN community. Overall, it is marked that ILSTC construction has entered a new phase.
