The Smart China Cup (2019) of Industrial Design (Industrial Design Competition for short) as one of the eight major competitions of the Smart China Expo 2019 officially kicked off in Chongqing on July 9.

The highest award is 50,000 RMB in cash, and the award-winning works are expected to be displayed globally at the expo.

Over 2,000 works received

According to the head of the organizing committee of the Industrial Design Competition, they began to collect entries online on June 6 by sending invitations to institutions and organizations in 27 countries worldwide. Up to now, 2,243 entries have been received from ten countries and regions.

Among them, there are more than 200 overseas works. One thousand three hundred eighty-nine individual submissions have been received, and 854 submissions were from various institutions, including 61 universities and colleges worldwide.

The competition is aimed at collecting unique industrial design works from global professional design institutions and designers. These works are divided into two groups: product design and innovative design, covering eight categories: electronic information, equipment manufacturing, transportation tools, household appliances, health care, product packaging, intelligent equipment, and innovative household consumer commodities.

The participants will go through competition sections, including online submission, online evaluation, finalist competition, and final competition. Finally, 18 award-winning works will be selected, with a maximum prize of 50,000 RMB for the highest award. The award-winning works will also be allowed to display their work at the Smart China Expo 2019.

The channel for collecting entries will be closed on July 31.

Whole-process services for the winner

According to the head of the organizing committee of the Industrial Design Competition, the competition will focus on the industrialization of award-winning works and organically combine the competition with the industrialization of the works. Therefore, the competition has been set up with industrialization measures such as efficient complementarity with global well-known investment and financing institutions, high-level roadshows and summit tours, and the special incubation funds of over RMB ten million to provide excellent projects with such whole-process industrial chain services as integrated marketing, design improvement, operating sites, trial production experiments, mass production, online and offline marketing with more than 3,000 channels.
