Chongqing - Temminck’s tragopan (Tragopan temminckii) is a medium-sized pheasant. It is also on the list of IUCN Red List of Threatened Species. Recently, flocks of Temminck’s tragopans appeared in Chongqing Jinfo Mountain (Gold Budhha Mountain) National Nature Reserve. Their colorful feathers are eye-catching against the white snow. The beautiful scene also suggests the continuous improvement of the local natural ecology.

Flocks of Temminck’s tragopans, found in a snow-coated forest, stood out in white snow. Their blue cheeks, orange-red body, and brown-yellow tail feathers were colorful and beautiful against the white snow.

At present, the reserve has laid hundreds of infrared cameras in the depopulated zone on a large scale. Now, we can investigate the distribution range and population of wildlife through technological means. In this way, we can adopt corresponding protection measures thus further intensifying protection efforts.
