On December 9, the first riverside bicycle fitness track, in Banan District, Chongqing, is officially open to all citizens. 40 members of Bicycle Association of Banan District and hundreds of bicycle fitness fans came to the fitness track. In addition, they were willing to feel its charm regardless of the severe cold.

The Bicycle Fitness Track Now and Future

The bicycle fitness track has length of about 10.4 kilometers and width of about 4 meters in total. The track is located in the area along the Yangtze River at Babin Road, Banan District. The entrance is in the “Sakura Blossom” region in Longzhouwan New Area. It passes through the Yanglin Fishing Port, Yangchun Wetland, Meiqin Oasis, Xinnan Sports Park and Camellia Square from south to north. Thus, it finally arrives at Huaxi River, entrance of the Yangtze River.

Banan District stated they will upgrade the surrounding environment, relying on the track in the future. Therefore, the track would become a beautiful riverside scenery at Babin Road. In addition, they will strengthen the greening along the track and improve the relevant infrastructure. For example, the department will add some seats for citizens to have a rest. Concerning public facilities, they will also add some trash cans. Moreover, they will build a bicycle track with certain cultural elements of Babin Road. Also, the department will integrate bicycle culture and riverside culture. Additionally, a music gallery equipped with music player devices would also open to the public.
