Chongqing - The 2019 China (West) Belt and Road Cross Border Investment and Trade Matchmaking Meeting, will be held in Liangjiang Hall B of Chongqing International Expo Center from 9:00 am to 6:00 pm on May 17. This Matchmaking Meeting is one of the series of themed activities of the Second West China International Fair of Investment and Trade (WCIFIT). It gives a full play of Chongqing’s strategic role in Western Development and its location advantage at the junction of the Belt and Road and the Yangtze River Economic Belt. It helps to build Chongqing into the pioneer of opening-up in hinterland China and encourages local enterprise to “Bring in” and “Go global”.
150 companies from the countries and regions along the Belt and Road will come together with nearly 500 companies from Chongqing and western provinces and cities for business negotiation.
Business Negotiation.
The Matchmaking Meeting aims at strengthening international advantage capacity cooperation, fostering and expanding the communication and cooperation between Chongqing’s industrial as well as commercial enterprises and the enterprises of the countries and regions along the Belt and Road, especially those along China-Europ (Chongqing) Rail Express and the New International Land-Sea Trade Corridor. It also helps Chongqing to further enhance Opening-up and drive the development of the central and western regions.
The participant enterprises of the Matchmaking Meeting are mainly from the countries and regions along the China-Europ (Chongqing) Rail Express and the New International Land-Sea Trade Corridor, such as Italy, Germany, Poland, Hungary, Singapore, Indonesia, Hong Kong. The enterprises cover areas such as electronic information, chemical medicine, material and energy, equipment manufacturing, automobile manufacturing, and consumer goods. By the end of April, 472 domestic enterprises had registered for the Matchmaking Meeting, including 442 enterprises from Chongqing and 30 enterprises from the western provinces and cities. 200 oversea customers from 23 countries and regions had signed up.
Participants will conduct one-on-one negotiation with one another during the Matchmaking Meeting. Each foreign company will hold business talks with seven Chinese companies. The representatives of Chinese and foreign enterprises will have further discussions on the economic and trade reciprocal policies, cooperation projects and cooperation methods between the two countries. The Bank of China will provide services for the cooperation between Chinese and foreign enterprises and facilitate the implementation of the on-site negotiation results.
