By Xiao Wu, Video shot by Renpan iChongqing   A big Thanksgiving Dinner was served in Chongqing InterContinental Hotel for the expats in Chongqing. It is the 13th of such gatherings in Chongqing. And now it has developed into one of the biggest expat parties in Chongqing every year.

This year, over 150 expats attended the dinner. There were families and individuals participated for many years, and students just came for the first time, and travelers happened to get to know the dinner and dropped by. New and old, they gathered together, to enjoy the warm and thankful moment.

On this delightful night, iChongqing found Miss Faith, the host of the Big Thanksgiving Dinner. And invited her to share with us the stories behind the wonderful annual dinner. 

“Part of the reason how this Thanksgiving Dinner got started was that the expat community wants to be with one another during a time when we are homesick. So we get the opportunity to meet people here and encourage one another, and that’s what it is meant to.” Faith said.

Faith is from New York and she works as an English teacher in Chongqing for 15 years. As for what kept her here, she said sentimentally, “Here I see part of the heart in China. My friend told me that if you want to see the heart of the people, go west ( of China).” 

Abundant food and wine served, laughter in the air, happy faces here and there, what a blessed night in Chongqing !
