Chongqing- The first “Gold Mountain and Silver Mountain” Cultural Tourism Festival will take place in Xiushan Tujia and Miao Autonomous County, Chongqing Municipality, on June 26. Two World-Class Go players-Gu Li and Chang Hao will also be in attendance and will play chess in the Chuanhegai Scenic Area of Xiushan, according to Xiushan County Commission of Culture and Tourism Development. 

Another highlight- the "Most Beautiful Road" Mountain Bike Challenge will also attract more than 300 elite players from across the country. The track has a total length of 20 kilometers. The 45-turn road represents a great test for the athlete's physical strength and perseverance.

During the festival, there will also be various activities including folk culture displays and performances. Altogether there will be more than 10 activities in 6 chapters, namely Leisure Xiushan, Wellness Xiushan, Harmonious and Beautiful Xiushan, Ecological Xiushan, Colorful Xiushan and Vibrant Xiushan.

Located in the hinterland of Wuling Mountain, Xiushan is an important gateway to the southeast of Chongqing. It is a cultural tourism city and an important tourist destination in Wuling Mountain area. Xiushan is rich in cultural resources with a variety of national folk arts represented by Xiushan Lantern.

Moreover, Chuanhegai Scenic Area, where the festival will be held, is located 40 kilometers northeast of Xiushan County. The scenic area covers an area of 67 square kilometers and has an average elevation of more than 1,200 meters.  At present, the tourist area includes a tourist reception center, star hotel, ring road, grass field and flower sea, camping base, outdoor sports base, tourist trails, and other facilities. Its amusements items involve sightseeing cars, small trains, full-view VR experience and skiing and etc.

In the first quarter of this year, the whole Xiushan county received 3.628 million tourists, an increase of 50.26% over the same period, last year. Its tourism income was 1.808 billion yuan, with a year-on-year increase of 49.74%.
