Chongqing - on Feb. 28th, Chongqing International Marathon (CIM) and Sincere Plaza have cooperated to launch a new fun way of marathon running: Qipa Run (mini marathon with a 5 km group run). As there are only 30 days left until the 2019 Chongqing International Marathon, iChongqing will be cover the news and live reporting.
According to the Chongqing International Marathon Organizing Committee, CIM is divided into a full marathon (42.195KM), half marathon (21.0975KM), and a mini-marathon (5KM). About 30,000 runners have registered.
Li Wei, the head of the Chongqing International Marathon Organizing Committee and director of the Nan'an District Sports Bureau, said that since the CIM began, it has grown in the past eight years. He has witnessed the whole history of the development of the Chongqing Marathon. "At present, besides the full marathon and half marathon, only the mini marathon has over 10,000 registered runners. Many groups will participate in the competition. Last year, Chongqing Marathon drove Chongqing`s tourism consumption by 580 million yuan. I hope that this year`s business image will be enhanced through the ‘Qipa Run’. I hope it will promote business integration and the economy. Hence, it will help further promote the development of Chongqing tourism" said Li Wei.
Qipa Run is a part of the mini marathon, which is a new brand for group running. It is indicated that under Qipa Run, the Sincere Group will provide service as outfit guide and training for runners in order for them to stand out during the game. This year is the first time that instead of single runner, they will invite runners from the same enterprise to run in order to promote their business.
