Longxing New Town, established on July 18, 2010, is located in the east of Yubei District and the northeast of Liangjiang New Area. It covers two townships with a planned total area of 111 square kilometers, namely Longxing and Shichuan.  Located in the advanced manufacturing industry belt in the industrial development plan "one core and four belts" of Liangjiang New Area, the town is positioned as the sub-center to the east of the future downtown, an advanced manufacturing base new innovative eco-city.

According to the overall development plan of Liangjiang New Area, Longxing New Town will focus on developing such industries as automobile, aerospace, high-end equipment, modern service, and scientific and technological innovation.  The investment attraction agreements have been signed for 111 projects with a total of 136.5 billion yuan (about 21.1 U.S. dollars) involved. In the automobile industry, Chongqing Chang'an New Energy Vehicles Technology Co., Ltd., Chongqing Jinkang New Energy Automobile Co., Ltd., and SAIC-GM-Wuling Automobile Co., Ltd.  (Phase I) have been completed and put into operation. With the successful introduction of such projects as the global low orbit satellite of Macro Net Communication Co., Ltd., Chongqing Skyrizon Aviation Power Co., Ltd., Chongqing General Aviation Industry Group Co., Ltd., Aviation Titanium Alloy, China Express Airlines Training Center, and OneSpace rocket, the aviation industrial park has initially formed an aviation industry system integrating R&D and assembly of helicopters, fixed-wing aircraft and aero-engines, production of aviation materials and aviation training. Efforts have been made to cultivate and strengthen emerging industries: with an investment of 5.6 billion yuan, AAC Technologies has started interior decoration; with an investment of 2.6 billion yuan, Silian Intelligent Equipment Industry Park has settled, and ZBJ Internet Town has started the construction.

With a total investment of 134.7 billion yuan in Longxing New Town, a large number of major infrastructure projects such as railways, highways, tracks, tunnels, bridges, as well as the pipe networks of water, electricity, gas, communication, and sewage have promoted the continuous improvement of urban functions in an all-round way. The town has built a total of 1.16 million square meters of public rental housing, 2.33 million square meters of resettlement houses, 100,000 square meters of standard factory buildings, and 750,000 square meters of industrial buildings for the smart eco-city of Longxing Headquarters where can hold more than 3,000 employees.  Longxing New Town has also attracted more than ten real estate projects of Evergrande, Greentown, Huayu, and Sunac and Longhu Paradise Walk, Guorui Paradise Walk, and the headquarter commercial block to settle there.  The town has completed the construction of such cultural tourism projects as Liangjiang International Film City and Chongqing Jihua Destination Center and the 13-kilometer waterfront view belt along the Yulin River. The town has completed the construction and has put the Chongqing University of Technology, Liangjiang Artificial Intelligence Institute, Chongqing Nankai Secondary School, Yuren Middle School, and Chongqing People's Primary School into service. In addition, the town is accelerating the building of such education projects as Chongqing No. 8 Middle School, Yubei Experimental Primary School, American IA Senior High School, Harrow Innovation Leadership Academy, Chongqing, as well as such supporting projects as the professional football stadium for the 2023 Asian Cup football match and Liangjiang Hospital of Chongqing University.
