Chongqing - 2019 Chongqing Kaizhou Hanfeng Lake Half Marathon (abbreviated as Han Marathon) will start in Kaizhou District on April 14th, with an arrangement of 6,000 participants and a total prize of nearly RMB 100,000 yuan. Compared with the first session, the marathon has added 10 km marathon, 5 km mini marathon, and skating project. The deadline for registration is March 31.

This year's Han Marathon will start running in the Gujin Plaza in southern Kaizhou District on April 14. The Han marathon route will pass through the landmarks of the Kaizhou such as Wenfeng Towers, Juzi Garden, and etc. Participants will run along the lakeside road and enjoy the views of Hanfeng Lake whereas the West Lake in Chongqing.

In the 5km mini marathon race, there is also a group of roller skating race. Huang Xing, staff in charge of the competition, from Chongqing Roller Skating Association, told us that a mixed race of marathon and roller skating was the first time in Chongqing. However, there are precedents in foreign countries, a project of “two runs” was developed. Han Marathon is also an attempt.

If runners` reacts are good, a special roller-skating marathon will be organized in the future: “not only 5 kilometers, the roller skating can also be a 42-kilometer full marathon competition. “Currently, the participation is very high whereas there is plenty of youth having passion in skating, and I believe that further development can be achieved through a richer type of event", said Huang.

The first Chongqing Kaizhou Hanfeng Lake Half Marathon held last year attracted runners from 28 cities across the country, as well as foreign players from Kenya, Ethiopia, Pakistan, Britain, Indonesia, and India. A total of 4,000 players have participated, and this year's number of participants increased by 50%.
