“Everything is hot. Hot food, hot weather, hot girls. Everything is hot in Chongqing.” Sharon wisely described Chongqing in a few words. Just like the locals here, she holds great love for the city where she has lived for 7 years.

Sharon is from New Zealand. As the General Manager of Chongqing InterContinental Hotel, she runs a busy and delightful life in the megacity. “Lots of visitors, lots of business guests, lots of VIPs. It’s very challenging every day, but also very rewarding. It’s never boring.” Said Sharon.

How does Sharon like Chongqing

Before she moved to Chongqing, she already worked and lived in other metropolitans in China such as Beijing and Shanghai. While her stay in Chongqing is the longest compared with other places. We could figure out the reason from her words about Chongqing.

“There are fantastic hot springs in Chongqing. There are lovely mountains with walks down to the river. We are very lucky in Chongqing. There is a lot of history also.” Sharon got a lot to share while asked about how she spent the leisure time here.

She also shared her opinions on the city's development.  "The roads are better. More subway lines, and the new airport. The development of the city has made it a much easy place for people to travel and live." Mentioned Sharon.

She described Chongqing as Hot, Vibrant, Crazy and Open. "We are catching up with all the other cities in China. Chongqing is very comparable now in life, opportunities, and things to do. It is moving very fast." Said Sharon

She is actively involved in communities

Out of the busy work schedule, Sharon is also very actively involved in communities. She often visits the students in mountain areas and supports them. She also goes to the nursing home to care about the seniors there. She will take her staff of the hotel for a marathon during the sunny days. Among many, she is an inspiration.
