By VIVIAN YAN|Apr 21,2021

In the first quarter of 2021, Guoyuan Port has completed a cargo throughput of 4,691,000 tons and a container throughput of 97,000 TEUs, both with a year-on-year increase of nearly 45%, serving as a good start of the year.

Guoyuan Port is advancing the construction of hub ports through channels and accelerating a multimodal transport hub system that combines "channels, networks and hubs" and "main line transport, branch line transport, and distribution."

In terms of operational efficiency, the Port implements unified scheduling for key links and important projects by promoting the joint dispatching mechanism. Thus the time in port for ships and trains is cut by 70% and 20%, respectively.

Specifically, it has formulated the operating rules of the Shanghai-Chongqing direct container express line and seen 272 departures and arrivals, up 77.8% year on year. The operational efficiency has been significantly improved.

Additionally, the Port is actively developing new routes between Chongqing and other places, including Sichuan. The new water transit routes between Guoyuan Port and Guang'an and Guangyuan have witnessed one departure and arrival and three departures and arrivals, respectively, with nearly 100 TEUs in total.

Liangjiang New Area has also interacted with Chongqing Port Customs, Yuxinou (Chongqing) Logistics Co., Ltd., and other units to coordinate the related work to improve transit efficiency, according to real-time tracking of the production and operation of China Railway Express (Yuxinou) to Europe.

In the first quarter of the year, China Railway Express (Yuxinou) transported 16,000 TEUs in Liangjiang New Area, with a year-on-year rise of 3.5 times. The New International Land-Sea Trade Corridor transported 2,646 TEUs, further strengthening Chongqing's opening-up channels.

Additionally, a large number of key projects are constructed in an orderly manner, such as the 2nd phase of Guoyuan Bonded Logistics Center (Type B), the center for centralized customs supervision, Sino-Singapore (Chongqing) Multimodal Transportation Demonstration Base, and COSCO SHIPPING Guoyuan Port Comprehensive Logistics Base.

Among them, 24% of the business headquarters of Sino-Singapore (Chongqing) Multimodal Transportation Demonstration Base (Phase I) has been built, and 32% of its repacking warehouses and container yards have been constructed. This project is expected to be partly put into operation in August and basically completed within 2021.
