The top 10 most influential cities of the nighttime economy are Chongqing, Chengdu, Changsha, Qingdao, Beijing, Xi'an, Shanghai, Shenzhen, Guangzhou, and Wuhan, according to China's Cities with Nighttime Economy Influence (2020) report released on April 24. This is the second time for Chongqing to rank first on the list.

The Report analyzed and evaluated the target cities in terms of the influence, innovation, industrial scale, and popularity of business districts. Chongqing scored high in all of the four dimensions.

According to Chongqing Municipal Commission of Commerce, the nighttime economy plays an increasingly vital role in the economic development of Chongqing, which pays much attention to that when growing itself into an international consumption center.

Next, the city will further improve the quality of consumption services, cultivate reputed brands in this field, and optimize supporting facilities to give rise to an array of cluster areas, demonstration zones, and core areas.

Meanwhile, Chongqing plans to step up efforts to help market entities of the nighttime economy and continuously lead companies to innovate business models and upgrade business formats.

Relying on its competitive natural resources, the city is expected to hold the Night Life Festival of Chongqing and increase its influence.
