This has also been emphasized by Tang Liangzhi, Deputy Secretary of the Communist Party of China Chongqing Municipal Committee and Mayor of the Chongqing Municipal People's Government, at the conference on advancing the construction of the New International Land-Sea Trade Corridor (ILSTC) and the work related to port logistics on April 30.

Channel

On building smooth channels, Chongqing will focus on intermodal transportation combining railway, highway, waterway, and airway, and regional coordination, speed up the construction of great sea-borne and cross-border channels and provide more support for establishing an international logistics hub in the interior.

Specifically, Chongqing will give full play to its role as the center of ILSTC logistics and operation organization to advance the alignment in brands, rules, and operation among en route provinces and regions, accelerate infrastructure construction and complete the cross-border highway logistics channel system.

Enhancing the capacity level, cargo value, and influence of China Railway Express to Europe, Chongqing will continuously optimize the overseas channel network, improve organization on the supply of goods, and perfect the collection, distribution, and transportation system.

Moreover, taping the potential and increasing the efficiency of the golden waterway of Yangtze River and building a shipping center in the upper reaches of the Yangtze River, the city will ensure the port resources along the way can be consolidated for increased cargo value and transportation efficiency.

Meanwhile, Chongqing will also accelerate planning and building new airports as part of the bid to develop a world-class airport group in Chengdu and Chongqing. In the future, Chongqing will introduce more international freight and passenger routes, develop base airlines and expand air transit businesses.
