Chongqing- Kaiwu, a newborn industrial Internet brand of Baidu AI Cloud, was launched in Chongqing on May 18^th. Injecting AI elements, Baidu would contribute to the construction of the industrial Internet ecosystems and industrial intelligence upgrading.

Half a month ago, Tencent Cloud also announced introducing the first industrial Internet platform of southwest China in Chongqing.

Until now, 11 cross-industry and cross-field industrial Internet platforms are settled in Chongqing among 15 such platforms selected by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT).

So, why do they all pick Chongqing?

“Chongqing has relatively complete industrial categories, which can provide rich application scenarios for the industrial Internet,” said Li Shuo, vice-president of Baidu. He thinks the good industrial base facilitates the industrial Internet development of Chongqing.

Cai Yi, vice-president of Tencent Cloud, also raised the same thought. “There are 41 industrial divisions in China, among which 31 are in Chongqing," said Cai. "As an important industrial base, Chongqing has formed an industrial system supported by different fields, including electronics, automobiles, equipment, chemicals, materials, consumer goods, energy and so on.”

In addition, he added that the industrial Internet in Chongqing enjoys a huge market potential with its various industry categories and sound basic condition.

Recently, new policies proposed to grow Chongqing into an innovative development of the industrial Internet and build a major national advanced manufacturing center. As a result, Chongqing has owned a good industrial ecosystem of industrial Internet, which lays a solid foundation for industrial Internet giants to land in Chongqing.

As for the main body of the market, up to now, 197 industrial Internet service companies and 47 third-party service platforms are gathered in the whole city, promoting 71,000 enterprises to the “cloud platform.”

Not long ago, Chengdu-Chongqing Industrial Internet Integration Development Demonstration Zone was officially approved, ensuring the further development of industrial Internet in Chongqing.

Remarkable Development Results

“Those industrial Internet companies have different extended businesses in Chongqing, such as Huawei who focuses on cloud computing, industrial software, and sensors; Rootcloud, COSMOPlat, and humi.com who specialize in the platform; QI-ANXIN who concentrates on information security,” an expert of industrial Internet said.

The enterprises have harvested remarkable results in Chongqing, including Huawei (Chongqing) Artificial Intelligence Innovation Center, which has supported 108 high-quality enterprises in Chongqing to the cloud platform until February this year.

Next, Chongqing will speed up the construction of network infrastructure, improve the network interconnection capacity, continuing to improve the national top node network, accelerate the construction and access of secondary nodes. At the same time, the upgrading of corporate intranets and the creation of demonstration projects will also be achieved.

Also, Chongqing plans to construct a national new-type industrial Internet exchange center in Chongqing from the MIIT and expedite the construction of a national big data sub-center for the industrial Internet.
