American Executive in Chongqing: Witnessing China’s Leaps and Progress within 15 years | The CPC in My Eyes

Chongqing- "China is having dialogues and conferences with different countries to build common understanding", said James Wemyss, an American investor working in Chongqing, "I realized China is making big leaps and progress."  he added during an interview with iChongqing recently.

As the director of Strategy and Business Development of Chongqing Stone Tan Financial Leasing Co., Ltd., Wemyss has seen tremendous growth in China's disposable income and consumption. He always explained to his family and friends in the United States, where he thinks it is incredible to be in China, and actually sees those changes in enhancing people's life quality throughout the years.

He insists that the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) results from the mutual understanding developed between China and other countries.

This year, Chongqing will continue to improve the quality of open economic development, achieve high-quality “bringing in” and high-level “going out,” power innovative trade development, make better use of foreign investment, and continuously expand markets in countries (regions) along the BRI.

This year’s July 1st marks the 100th Anniversary of the founding of the CPC. iChongqing conducted a series of exclusive interviews with ex-pats and scholars to talk about China’s outstanding achievements during the past 100 years under the leadership of the CPC, and James Wemyss was one of the ex-pats happy to share his views with us.
