Ranking among the top ten in China

In recent years, Chongqing's widespread enthusiasm for public welfare has been evident to all. According to Tencent's public welfare platform, Chongqing has remained in the top ten in the country for five consecutive years in terms of the number of donations and donors.

According to a press conference on April 21, the 2022 "Rural Revitalization • Chongqing Session" public welfare activity will last from April 27 to 29. The Tencent Foundation will provide 50 million yuan (about 7.62 million U.S. dollars) of donations to all ongoing public welfare projects.

Up to now, 94 charities, social organizations, and voluntary service organizations in the city have planned nearly 300 projects in seven areas, including assistance in industry, education, and talent, as well as ecological revitalization, said Xu Haibo, member of the party group and deputy director of the Chongqing Municipal Bureau of Rural Revitalization.

Among them, the Red Cherry Volunteer Association of Yuzhong District will launch the "Mental Health Project for Rural Children," which prioritizes the mental health development of rural children. The project will improve the conditions of rural schools through infrastructure construction, set an example for the psychological protection of rural minors, and improve the quality of rural primary education.

Technology improves people's livelihood

This activity is the country's first regional special activity for rural revitalization supported by Tencent Foundation. It is a public welfare activity specially designed for Chongqing and mainly targeted at Chongqing's rural revitalization projects.

This activity will play a crucial part in Chongqing's comprehensive implementation of the rural revitalization strategy, the rural revitalization of industry, talent, culture, ecological protection, organizations, and the integrated development of urban and rural areas.

Meanwhile, the activity has opened an online fundraising channel. From April 27 to 29, people can make donations to their favorite public welfare projects through the WeChat mini program "Tencent Charity."

Starting from 10 a.m. every day during the activity, each donation of one yuan or more to the public welfare project will have the opportunity to receive a random amount of the corresponding donation from Tencent Foundation. For each donation of not less than one yuan, the Tencent Foundation will also make a random donation.
