The event was one of Chongqing's Science and Technology Week activities. Focusing on the exhibition hall of Magnificent Three Gorges, the event combined the collection of cultural relics and exhibition characteristics as much as possible through different activities.

In order to enable the audience to deeply understand the content of the exhibition and have a better experience in the hall, Three Gorges Museum invited the performers, who are inheritors of national intangible cultural heritage, to present the spectacle - Chuanjiang Haozi (work songs of boat trackers along the Yangtze River in old times). It was an interactive show, which let audiences follow actors to sing Chuanjiang Haozi, allowing audiences to encounter "the Spirit of Three Gorges1" with an immersive experience.

Meanwhile, the Three Gorges Museum integrated the collection of cultural relics Three Gorges Boat to promote the handmade package of the Three Gorges Solar Boat. By making the Three Gorges Solar Boat, students and children were inspired to explore the sustainable development of the Three Gorges' future.

Moreover, another activity was popular with students. Through the knowledge quiz competition of the Three Gorges, such as reciting poems, talking about history, and discussing low carbon, the students' initiative and pleasure in learning relevant knowledge were enhanced. At the same time, "the Spirit of Three Gorges" and "the Spirit of Immigration2" were deeply rooted in students' minds.

Annotation:

  1. The Spirit of Three Gorges: The Three Gorges Spirit is the spirit created by the local people of the Three Gorges in the long history based on the landscape of the Three Gorges of Yangtze River. It includes the loyal and brave character represented by the Ba people, the pioneering spirit represented by the Chu people, and the self-sacrificing spirit of taking on righteousness and sacrificing oneself for the country.
  2. The Spirit of Immigration: Before constructing the Three Gorges Dam, millions of people lived along with the Yangtze River. In order to solve problems of power generation and flood control in the long run, the construction of the Three Gorges Dam started in 1994. However, after the construction, the water level rose, and the water level below 175 meters belongs to the water storage area. Those who live below this waterline had to relocate. Therefore, millions of people from the Three Gorges area had to emigrate and relocate and started their new life and business for the construction of the Three Gorges Dam. The main connotations of the Spirit of Immigration include the patriotic spirit of keeping in mind the big picture and shouldering the responsibilities, the dedication spirit of self-serving, the spirit of cooperation of all people, and hard work.
