"Laowai@Chongqing - A Century-long Exploration" Came to Jiangjin

Chongqing- On May 28, "Laowai (foreigner)@Chongqing - A century-long Exploration" was launched in Jiangjin District, Chongqing. A total of 16 international students studying in Chongqing from Russia, Turkmenistan, Bangladesh, and other countries started a special experience in the former residence of Marshal Nie Rongzhen, Baisha Old Chongqing Film and Television Base, Chongqing Jiangxiaobai Liquor Co., Ltd., and other places to experience the red culture and local customs in Jiangjin District.

The former residence of Marshal Nie Rongzhen is located in Wutan Town of Jiangjin District, Chongqing. The exhibition room displayed more than 40 cultural relics such as daily necessities, toys, and school supplies used by Marshal Nie Rongzhen in his youth. More than 100 precious pictures vividly recorded Marshal Nie Rongzhen's life, the real scenes of his participation in the patriotic student movement when he was young, and his brilliant achievements in various combat periods.

By viewing the precious cultural relics and graphic materials, the international students have a concrete understanding of the revolutionary years. Goncharova Ekaterina, a Russian student from Chongqing University of Posts and Telecommunications, said: "I have been in Chongqing for three years, and I feel the vitality and development of this city. The story of Marshal Nie Rongzhen touched me deeply."

After visiting the former residence of Marshal Nie Rongzhen, the international students visited the Baisha Old Chongqing Film and Television Base, Chongqing Jiangxiaobai Liquor Co., Ltd., as well as a traditional private school where Nie Rongzhen studied and grew up, and watched a traditional entrance ceremony at the school. They have experienced many interesting activities such as making "zongzi" (a traditional food for the Dragon Boat Festival in China), visiting the digital video studio, and making wine. From these activities, the international students perceived the excellent traditional Chinese culture of Jiangjin and learned about the development and modernization in Jiangjin.

After the one-day trip, the students expressed that their trip was worthwhile. They not only gained a deeper understanding of Chongqing but also gained a lot of new knowledge about Chinese culture and history. Rafe, an international student from Bangladesh, admitted that initially, his purpose in China was just to study, but the longer he stayed in China, the more he loved China. He hoped that peace and friendship between China and his country would last.
