Chongqing - On May 30^th, the Multilingual Website of Sichuan International Studies University (SISU) was officially launched. The website, covering 22 languages, became a university portal with the most language versions in Chongqing and Western China.

According to Zhu Chaowei, Vice President of SISU, the website has been built into a user-oriented international communication platform with strong practicability since its establishment in October 2021.

With 22 language options, the website constitutes an international communication matrix that covers all language majors of SISU at present. These 22 languages such as English, Russian, French, German, Spanish, Japanese, Italian, Arabic, and Portugues include both official languages used in the UN and major non-universal languages. Meanwhile, in order to build an all-media university international communication matrix based on the website, multiple oversea social media accounts will be set up to launch multilingual columns featuring new media.

The website also offers an innovative and practical way to cultivate talents in the international communication field. Students from SISU are hired as associated editors and journalists, Chinese teachers from different language majors serve as editors-in-chief, and foreign teachers as counselors. An innovative credits assessment system was established and an international communication skill training mode empowered by new media with professional knowledge as a foundation and practical ability as support is formed. Hence, the website is well integrated into teaching, field practice, and innovation & professions.

Moreover, the website serves as an important window to the world. Based on higher education functions, the website publishes not only academic achievements, covers campus activities, circulates knowledge, and demonstrates the image and features of the university; but also displays Chinese traditional culture and significant improvements in China through featured columns. It’s worth noting that the Multilingual Website of SISU will also cooperate with iChongqing to form an international communication internet matrix that will contribute to unfolding a real and comprehensive image of China to the world and telling Chinese stories well.
