Chongqing- Loaded with 40 light trucks, the Qingling motors special train of the China-Laos Railway departed from Tuanjiecun Station, Southwest China's Chongqing Municipality, on June 8. With the joint efforts of Chongqing and Kunming customs, the train will leave the country through Mohan port and finally be transported to the south of Vientiane, Laos.
This is the first complete train of China-Laos international freight trains exported in the railway express mode, marking the milestone in promoting made-in-Chongqing products to go aboard and exploring the Southeast Asian market.
Produced by local factories in Chongqing, Qingling Motors Co. Ltd is a leading motorcycle company in the country. Its brands and products, like Lingka light trucks, Daka pickups, and other vehicles launched in recent years, are widely favored in some international markets, especially Southeast Asia.
Under the bright background of the Belt and Road Initiative, coupled with the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP) agreement and the China-Laos Railway operation, the overseas market demand for Qingling Motors has continued to rise. However, choosing a stable, efficient, and high-quality cross-border logistics platform has become an urgent issue for the company.
"The high-quality cross-border logistics services of the Yuxinou (Chongqing) Logistics Co., Ltd provided strong logistics supply chain support for our company's globalization strategy," said the competent representative. The high-efficiency and high-quality operation of the Chongqing international railway train has further enabled more local enterprises to go abroad, improving the global competitiveness of made-in-Chongqing brands.
In recent years, the Yuxinou (Chongqing) Logistics Co., Ltd has been committed to strengthening the connection between channels and promoting the deep integration of the industrial, supply, and value chains.
Since 2017, the total value of the whole vehicle of Yuxinou transportation has reached nearly 15 billion yuan (about 2.24 billionU.S. dollars). Prestigious car brands, like Porsche and Audi, have established southwest distribution centers in Chongqing, and Bentley's import distribution business has been transferred inland from the coast.
Many firms have been continuously imported through the Yuxinou railway. They have successfully built international logistics distribution centers and production bases in Chongqing, providing vital support for developing Chongqing's export-oriented economy.
"The successful operation of this China-Laos special train will save one to three days of freight time and reduce costs for the Qingling motors," said Qi Dan, general manager of Yuxinou. After years of development, Yuxinou company has operated various international railway trains exceeding 10,000 and the stable operation of nearly 40 lines, which can radiate to more than 100 cities and regions at home and abroad. The high-efficiency transportation channel is significant for Chongqing to go overseas and connect with countries along the Belt and Road Initiative. In the future, more made-in-Chongqing and made-in-China brands and products will go to the world through this corridor.
Hu Hongbing, deputy director of the Chongqing Port and Logistics Office, said that the significant outbound channels represented by the ILSTC and the China-Europe Railway Express provided a stable logistics corridor for local products. It has become an important carrier and star brand for Chongqing to build an inland international logistics hub and port highland.
