Chongqing- In this episode, I share my experience discovering the booming coffee market in China. I also visited an international coffee fair in Chongqing, China recently.

The Chinese coffee market has undergone an incredible amount of growth. Revenue in the Coffee segment amounts to US$16.17bn in 2022. The market is expected to grow annually by 7.77% (CAGR 2022-2025). In global comparison, most revenue is generated in the United States (US$90,280.00m in 2022). In relation to total population figures, per person revenues of US$11.11 are generated in 2022.

Many coffee events and trade shows are being held in China's larger cities to keep up with this explosive growth. This vlog will show you a great coffee fair, the Chongqing International Coffee Festival.

The festival has attracted eight coffee industry associations, such as the Asia Coffee Association and Yunnan Coffee Industry Association. Coffee companies from 15 provinces and cities, including Shannxi Province, more than 60 coffee brands, and 80 raw and auxiliary material brands participated in the exhibition.

More than ten national trade institutions – such as the Asian Coffee Association, the Brazilian Specialty Coffee Association, the Colombian Coffee Producers Association, the China-Latin America Chamber of Commerce LACE, the Mexican Grupo Alicante, the Dubai Multi-Commodity Exchange Center, and the Laos Coffee – participated in the international exhibition area.

They displayed Latin American green beans from more than 20 countries and conduct a “Latin American Coffee Cupping” interactive activity. Residents can use the manual handed to quickly find the cafes in Chongqing that use Latin American green beans and taste the pure Latin American flavor.

Nearly ten well-known international and domestic coffee brands, including TAG ESPRESSO, Tim Hortons, Corner Tower Cafe in Forbidden City, Luckin Coffee, and ZOO COFFEE, held exhibitions and exchanges at the festival. TAG ESPRESSO, a chain coffee brand in Singapore, brought the flagship product “3-second ultra-instant freeze-dried powder” produced with a unique alcohol extraction technology.

In addition, well-known independent coffee brands debuted at the festival, hoping to boost the Chongqing coffee industry.

This festival also presents a diverse and interesting coffee consumption experience for the public. It invited cross-border brands, integrating food, fashion, culture and creativity, music performance, and motorcycle culture. There were also popular new products such as bean curd latte, oral hyaluronic acid coffee, and cold-brewed ice powder.
