Chongqing- As a subactivity of the 4th Western China International Fair for Investment and Trade (WCIFIT), the MNCs Tour in Chongqing (MTC) kicked off on 21st July. Representatives of 23 multinational companies shared their insights about future cooperation with Chongqing in medical, new energy, and automobile areas.

During the investigation and research activities, Chongqing's Liangjiang New Area and High-tech Zone representatives introduced the advantages of the location, industry, and policy to the delegation of multinational enterprises. Multinational enterprises are optimistic about the development prospects of the two districts.

According to Huang Xiaojun, Senior Vice President and Managing Director of Veolia China, Chongqing, Liangjiang New Area, has regional, ecological, industrial, and institutional advantages and a good business environment. At the same time, Veolia is committed to becoming a global benchmark enterprise for environmental transformation and has launched two primary industrial directions of carbon emission reduction and new energy for the Chinese market. 

Huang said he hopes to cooperate with Chongqing and Liangjiang New Area to introduce Veolia's core technology and industrial model in CCUS (Carbon Capture, Utilization, and Storage) to Chongqing.

"We hoped to unite Roche's unique advantages with Chongqing medical institutions to create a cooperation model," said Long Weili, vice president of Shanghai Roche Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. "To establish an innovative medical and healthy ecosystem, and promote its innovative drugs and treatment plans benefit more patients, make contributions to Chongqing Big Health industry's development." 

Xue Li, vice president of Danfoss (Shanghai) Investment Co., Ltd., said that Chongqing is developing rapidly and has a broad market.

Through this tour, he understood the development opportunities and unique advantages of Liangjiang New Area. In particular, the new area's emphasis on developing green industries has made everyone see a good prospect for cooperation. His company will deepen exchanges with Liangjiang New Area and seek further cooperation.

"I am on behalf welcoming all new friends to invest in Liangjiang New Area," said Li Xiu, senior manager of government affairs for Ford Motor (China) Co., Ltd. As a leading auto company in Liangjiang New Area, Changan Ford has been deeply involved in Chongqing for many years, boosting the high-quality development of the automobile industry chain in Liangjiang New Area. 

"The Liangjiang New Area has given supportive policies to build a good business environment," Li added. "With the help of the Liangjiang New Area, Changan Ford's revitalization plan has succeeded. In 2021, Changan Ford's Automobile production and output value increased significantly."

Gao Yinyan, head of the public affairs department of Air Liquide (China) Holding Co., Ltd., expressed her hope to contribute to the development of hydrogen energy in Chongqing and believes that there will be much technical cooperation with Chongqing's high-tech zone in the future.

At the MNCs Tour in Chongqing, Business Promotion, and Matchmaking, multinational companies negotiate face-to-face with districts, counties, and open platforms and make precise connections.

MTC has guided foreign enterprises to gradient transfer within the country and built a platform for multinational companies and local governments to exchange information and dock project. More major foreign-funded projects will land in Chongqing soon.
