Chongqing- This year marks the fifth year of the Smart China Expo (SCE), and the SCE 2022 will open in a few days with more than 900 important guests, 20 professional forums, and 120 launch events, according to the press conference on August 15. 

The SCE 2022 features five sections of conferences, exhibitions, competitions, discussions, and activities, where industry giants and prominent academics will gather to share insights under the theme of "Smart City."

557 exhibitors from 19 countries will participate

With an exhibition area of 90,000 square meters, 557 exhibitors from 19 countries and regions will participate, including Italy, where the percentage of exhibitors from outside the city reached 51.4%.

More than 1560 application scenarios will be presented in over 30 fields, with extensive use of information technology such as naked eye 3D, Virtual Reality (VR), and Extended Reality (XR). 

Development plans and the latest achievements will be discussed and shared based on the frontier technology of intelligent science and technology and other current hot topics among over 900 exhibitors, said Lan Qinghua, director of Chongqing Economic and Information Technology Commission. 

A total of 20 forums will feature professional content and high technologies on a variety of topics such as artificial intelligence, meta-universes, and more, featuring keynote addresses from top industry experts, along with ten competitions involving more than 10,000 teams. 

Further regional connectivity with Singapore under CCI

Chu Bin, deputy director of the China-Singapore (Chongqing) Demonstration Initiative on Strategic Connectivity Administrative Bureau, addressed the press conference on five platforms, including regional cooperation strategic service, modern interconnection development, modern service economy demonstration, policy mechanism innovation promotion, reform and opening up exploration and practice. 

By enhancing regional connectivity, for instance, the CCI will facilitate the flow of capital, information, people, and logistics through Chongqing and radiate to western China, even to countries and regions along the Belt and Road.

Meanwhile, more landmark projects will be constructed in Chongqing to gather more international resources in an array of sectors of education, medical care, retirement, and tourism, aiming to create a higher quality of life in Chongqing. 

This year, Singapore will set up a unique exhibition hall in the pavilion to promote its successful experience and cases of innovative country building, and Singaporean firms will participate in the activities.
