Chongqing's New Foreign Trade and Logistics Hub Set to Launch in 2024

By HUXIN LUO|Aug 22,2024

Chongqing - The main construction of Chongqing Yubei’s 2024 key foreign trade and logistics project, East Top’s Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) Supply Chain Coordination Platform, has recently been completed and is expected to be operational within 2024.

The platform will boost Chongqing’s foreign trade logistics and industrial upgrade by integrating smart supply chain management, cross-border e-commerce acceleration, and support services, attracting sectors like smart devices, laptops, EV parts, and medical equipment.

According to Xinhua, in the first quarter, China's trade with countries participating in the BRI totaled 4.82 trillion yuan (USD 675.5 billion), up 5.5%, continuing its steady growth.

Amid shifting global political and trade landscapes, the BRI has become a significant force in driving China's foreign trade growth, leading to a sharp rise in BRI partners' demand for supply chain and logistics services.

East Top has chosen Chongqing, a key hub for the BRI and Yangtze River Economic Belt, for the platform. The platform, a strategic East Top investment near Chongqing Jiangbei International Airport, is under construction, with internal roads, landscaping, and final inspections in progress.

As a top digital supply chain service provider in China, East Top offers an open, collaborative solutions platform. It holds the status of Authorized Economic Operator (AEO), which means it is certified by customs to enjoy preferential management policies.

Additionally, the company leverages a globally integrated supply chain network and has established a foothold in industries such as cross-border e-commerce and semiconductor equipment.

The completion of the platform will accelerate the growth of Chongqing's Mu'er Aviation Logistics Park. This park focuses on smart logistics and international trade and attracts companies like East Top, COSCO SHIPPING Group, and ZTO Express.

The Mu'er Aviation Logistics Park enables air, rail, road, and water transportation, serving as a key asset in Yubei's efforts to build the New International Land-Sea Trade Corridor (ILSTC) "air corridors."

It will enhance smart warehousing, cross-border e-commerce, smart supply chains, and financial services, significantly advancing the national airport logistics hub and the ILSTC.
