The ballet Centennial Ode to Red Plum Blossoms by the Chongqing Ballet Theater has begun a run of stunning performances during the International Dance Festival at the Teatro Mayor Julio Mario Santo Domingo Colombia from April 21 to 28. Over the week, this brilliant show brimming with Chinese charm is being performed all day for audiences of more than two million people worldwide.

Centennial Ode to Red Plum Blossoms is a classical piece of Chongqing Ballet Theater. There are also original works such as My Motherland and pieces from world-renowned ballets such as Black Swan Pas De Deux, featuring a perfect mix of Chinese and international dance styles and characteristics.

Lotus is selected from Looking for Shangri-La, an original ballet of the Chongqing Ballet Theater, which shows the love for the hometown, the passion for the motherland with beautiful rivers and mountains, and the pursuit of truth, goodness, and beauty.

Scenic Chongqing uses brisk steps to show the unique beauty of Chongqing and combines dancing and Chinese landscape painting to highlight the charm of traditional Chinese dance.

This year marks the 10th anniversary of the establishment of the Chongqing Ballet Theater. Over the years, it has staged performances in many countries such as the United States, France, Spain, Portugal, Algeria, Italy, Hungary, and Singapore. Its work Looking for Shangri-La won the Silver Award for Repertoire of the 5th Minorities Art Festival of China, and its acrobatic ballet Swan Lake won the UK Manchester Award for the Best International Play 2008.

Teatro Mayor Julio Mario Santo Domingo is well known all over the world for art and boasts several millions of members and fans worldwide. Lasting from March 31 to May 5, the International Dance Festival Online - which brings together Les Grands Ballets Canadiens de Montréal, Spanish Barcelona Flamenco Ballet, British Grand Opera Troupe, Mexican Modern Dance Troupe, and other performance agencies - will offer an international feast of ballet, classical dance, folk dance, and modern dance.
