By RAN ZHENG|May 29,2022

On May 27, the 6th Chongqing Municipal Congress of the Communist Party of China (CPC) was grandly opened in the Great Hall of the People in Southwest China’s Chongqing Municipality. More than 700 delegates to the 6th CPC Chongqing Municipal Congress from all fronts and industries gathered to make plans for the city's development in the next five years.

The delegates have fully recognized the achievements and development in different sectors Chongqing achieved these years and looked forward to the CPC Chongqing Municipal Congress launching; optimistic about the bright future of Chongqing's development. All representatives of the CPC will shoulder their missions and carry the responsibility. With full political enthusiasm and tirelessness in work, they will contribute themselves to the development of Chongqing and make this city more prosperous.

Here are some stories from the two delegates to the 6th CPC Chongqing Municipal Congress.

Reduce the cost of medical treatments

"My biggest expectation is that people can spend less money when receiving medical treatments. In recent years, I have seen amazing changes in our hospitals," said Wan Lu, Secretary of the fourth Party Branch of People's Hospital in Xiushan Tujia and Miao Autonomous County, delegate to the 6th CPC Chongqing Municipal Congress, and head nurse of the Department of Respiratory and Critical Care Medicine.

In the past, medical resources were limited in the county. Many patients had to travel a long distance to the urban area of Chongqing or even other cities for better medical care. Just five years later, the hospital in Xiushan Tujia and Miao Autonomous County has established five major medical centers step by step. The Department of Respiratory and Critical Care Medicine has also been equipped with intensive care units (ICUs).

The total building area for the medical industry in the county has reached 300,000 square meters, and the total value of medical equipment and facilities has achieved 400 million yuan. Meanwhile, the standardization rate of town and township hospitals and village health clinics has reached 100%, and the hospital-based childbirth rate has been 99.9%. Besides, more and more patients come from other regions, such as Baojing County of Hunan Province and Songtao Miao Autonomous County of Guizhou Province, looking for good medical services here.

Serving as considerate service providers

"Public security officers have a growing number of measures to provide services for our people, and the relationship between us is much closer," said He Qiao, delegate to the 6th CPC Chongqing Municipal Congress and Sheriff of Ciqikou Ancient Town Police Station, Shapingba District Public Security Sub-bureau, Chongqing Public Security Bureau.

As I work in the Ciqikou Ancient Town sub-district to deal with the needs of 161 deaf residents in our jurisdiction, I have learned sign language by myself. I have acquired 2,800 words in sign language to communicate with them smoothly. With the help of all parties, we have established "Ms. Qiao's Warm Police Duty Room," combining police duty, dispute mediation, entertainment, and other functions. Over the years, the Police Duty Room has actively learned from and practiced the New Era's "Fengqiao Experience." It has successfully handled over 320 disputes between people and helped people solve their problems more than 530 times.

"In the future, I will pay more attention to my work and provide more considerate services for our people. I will stand in others' shoes and concentrate on people's needs with my work," said officer He Qiao.
