Chongqing- "The scene innovation will drive the ecological construction of the artificial intelligence (AI) industry, and Chongqing is at the forefront of this opportunity," said Wen Junhao, Professor from the School of Big Data and Software at Chongqing University.

Recently, China released guidelines on speeding up scene innovation, clarifying that scene innovation is now an effective way to upgrade AI technology and promote economic growth.

Practical application cover health, new materials, and new energy

By integrating supply and demand, scene innovation achieves iterative upgrading of new technologies and rapid industrial growth through the creative application of new technologies.

In Professor Wen's view, what determines the AI industry is not how much data is collected in the lab but how much has been applied in practice. 

In recent years, Chongqing has extensively used smart scenes in industries such as automobiles, motorcycles, electronic information, equipment manufacturing, and more. Over 4,700 smart transformation projects have been implemented, and 734 digital workshops and 127 smart factories have been built.

Data shows that in the signing of key projects at the Smart China Expo 2022, the number of strategic emerging industry projects accounted for 80%, and smart scenes are deeply embedded in many popular fields, such as the health industry, new materials, and new energy.

In Chongqing, smart city construction and urban renewal are deeply integrated, with smart scenes everywhere.

With more than 400 smart communities, and smart service platforms such as Yukang Code and Yukuaiban, the city's online platform for smart public services, Chongqing has become an indispensable part of the daily lives of its citizens.

Scene innovation of NEV and ICV industries

Additionally, the guidelines stated that AI innovation scenes should be built around an efficient smart economy and a convenient intelligent society.

In this regard, Wen believes Chongqing is a market leader and has advantages in scene innovation of new energy and intelligent connected vehicle (ICV) manufacturing, smart transportation, and smart agriculture.

A world-class new energy and ICV industry cluster is on the horizon in Chongqing. In Chongqing, Wen believes that automobile manufacturing represents the most significant innovation in artificial intelligence.

For example, Changan has deployed several smart factories in Chongqing to implement more than 70 intelligent functions such as IACC, APA6.0, and intelligent voice on mass-produced models and launched AVATR 11 and other models.

In addition, the SERES smart factory is one of the important fronts for mid-to-high-end ICVs in Chongqing.

According to SERES Group Vice President Yin Xiansheng, the central nervous system of the factory controls its production process. "When an abnormal situation occurs, it will automatically identify it, stop the production line, and sound an alarm."

The SERES AITO M7 manufactured in this factory will improve the driving experience for users. ICVs will be equipped with HarmonyOS smart cockpit, the first commercial AITO zero-gravity seat, an electric drive intelligent range extension platform, and other intelligent applications.

In addition, Baidu also activates model areas for intelligent transportation in Chongqing to promote scene innovation.
