The weather has been great these past few days and Chongqing is starting to really show its beauty with the flowers all in bloom and the sunny blue-sky days ahead. It is times like these that I enjoy having a job that allows me to take time to roam the city looking for images that not only supports my work but also gives me a sense of fulfillment. When I was younger, I struggled a lot with finding a hobby that I could do, that I was actually also good at. And after experimenting with sports, and other sorts of creative things, I finally settled on Photography. I am by no means a master or anything, but I have started to really take pride in my work in recent years.
Chongqing for me is an amazing city in many ways, but especially as a photographer I am constantly in awe of the photos I see other people take, and I am inspired every day by the landscapes, the buildings, the streets, even the people. And I thought, today I would share this passion with you all, and show you some of my favorite locations in Chongqing to go, when I need a good photo fix.
While I do not necessarily often photograph the grand theater itself, it is one of my new favorite locations for photographing Chongqing. Hongya Cave especially looks great from across the river and you can have the Qiansimen bridge in the frame as well. It is a hugely iconic spot and you'll never be alone photographing here. What is interesting is that while everyone is sort of photographing the same thing, because of our individual tastes and preferences, we often end up with slightly different end results.

The People's Square located on the Yuzhong peninsula is where you can find the Chongqing Great Hall of the People. A majestic building that is, to me at least, incredibly photogenic. Because the building is not as tall as the surroundings, it can be hard to find a good angle to photograph, but I've found that the open space just outside of the Three Gorges museum across the square is my best bet.

A new addition to my list of favorite photo locations. Hong'En Temple was a bit of a surprise for me. I realized that in the 6 years I have lived in Chongqing, I had never been to that park once. I recently moved to Jiangbei District and now live much closer to the park and I decided just last week that it was time for me to go there for the first time, and the part did not disappoint. The park in itself is nice and big, but for me, the main attraction will always be the Pagoda at the top of the hill. Incredibly beautiful.
