Chongqing- Liangjiang New Area was included in the released list of the first pilot urban areas for 15-Minute Convenient Life Circles in China, making it the only one of its kind in Chongqing.

Six aspects to 

According to an official from Chongqing Municipal Commission of Commerce, 15-Minute Convenient Life Circles continue and upgrade community commerce in urban areas. In 15-Minute Convenient Life Circles, residents will have access to convenient consumption nearby to meet the needs of daily life in the community.

Great efforts will be made in six aspects: optimize the layout scientifically, strengthen weak links in facilities, diversify the business forms, expand market entities, make innovations in service capabilities, and regulate business operations.

A pilot urban area

On May 28, 2021, the Ministry of Commerce and other 11 authorities jointly issued the Opinions on Promoting the Development of 15-minute Convenient Life Circles in Urban Areas, which proposes to pilot 15-Minute Convenient Life Circles in a bid to improve people's consumption experience, stimulate potential consumption, and create more jobs.

Liangjiang New Area of Chongqing was included in the list of the first pilot urban areas for 15-Minute Convenient Life Circles in China released on August 30, 2021, making it the only one of its kind in Chongqing.

As the third state-level new area for development and opening-up in China and the first one inland, Liangjiang New Area meets the commitment to develop a modern industrial system, push for the high-quality development of open economy and a sound basis for the application of new technologies, said the official from Chongqing Municipal Commission of Commerce.

The official continued, many large and medium-sized enterprises and mid-to-high-end consumers have chosen to gather in the area, which is one of the key reasons why Liangjiang New Area was selected.

With the help of the pilot effort, Liangjiang New Area will solve the problems caused by the lack of scientific planning in the early stage, such as insufficient commercial sites, uneven growth of commercial types, imperfect facilities, and unbalanced development of business forms.

At the same time, the convenient life circles and the business center of Liangjiang New Area will complement each other, promote the high-quality development of the service industry in the area, satisfy the needs of consumption upgrading and the people for a high-quality life, and move faster to foster new growth points for the development of the service industry.

According to the pilot plan, by 2025, more than 25 pilot convenient life circles will be developed in Liangjiang New Area, with a coverage rate of more than 80% and a residents' satisfaction rate of more than 95%.
