The Two Bentley Flying Spurs tested are worth around 6 million yuan (approx.0.90 million U.S. dollars), which were distributed to all parts of southwest China through the Xiyong Comprehensive Bonded Zone.
This measure reflects the brand’s breakthrough in the bonded warehousing of imported vehicles, marking another luxury car brand’s import and distribution business, completing a strategic shift from the coast to the inland.
As a major innovative function of the Xiyong Comprehensive Bonded Zone, the bonded warehousing business of imported automobiles plays the advantages of the port in terms of resource gathering, inland hub, and bonded policy system. So far, Chongqing Xiyong Comprehensive Bonded Zone has completed a heavy volume of Porsche, Audi, ART (Mercedes-Benz authorized modified brand), and other brands.
This helps to reduce the financial pressure on enterprises and form a win-win situation for automobile, warehousing, and logistics enterprises, increase market demand and accelerate the response speed of the domestic imported automobile supply chain, promoting the construction of a post-auto ecosystem in the Xiyong Comprehensive Bonded Zone.
Promoting the further implementation of the bonded warehousing project, Chongqing Customs launched innovative measures for free trade, implementing the “one-time inspection, transportation, and integrated operation” of vehicle bonded warehousing. On this basis, it has further formulated the rules for effective entry and exit, achieving the zero-delay entry and exit of bonded vehicles in batches.
A bonded distribution center for imported vehicles in the southwest region was also constructed so that the settled enterprises can fully enjoy the policy dividends, and ultimately achieve cost reduction and efficiency improvement.
In 2021, Chongqing Xiyong Comprehensive Bonded Zone imported 7,453 bonded vehicles worth about 4.2 billion yuan (about 630 million U.S. dollars), which made a 100% increase compared to the same period last year, ranking first in the city.
In 2020, the Cainiao Southwest Central Warehouse was set up at Taobao Warehouse in Xiyong Comprehensive Bonded Zone, which made the goal of goods shipped to the whole country come true. At present, 217 Tmall International merchants have settled there, which covers more than 100 countries.
Cainiao is one of the earliest companies to initiate green actions in China’s express logistics industry.
According to the official introduction of Cainiao, cross-border e-commerce can be transferred to general trade after overseas goods enter the central warehouse. All channels, such as online and various e-commerce platforms, can be distributed, significantly reducing the logistics complexity of cross-border trade, effectively lowering inventory, and bringing down capital occupation.
Today, well-known e-commerce brands such as Miya, the largest vertical e-commerce for mothers and infants in China, and Hero Baby, a company founded in Spain for baby and toddler food and milk, have all gathered here, successfully creating an “e-commerce circle of friends” in the region.
In 2021, Xiyong Comprehensive Bonded Zone cooperated with eBay, the world’s top 500 cross-border e-commerce leading enterprise, carrying out a series of activities such as “eBay entering the Chongqing industrial belt in 2022”.
Both will develop related projects such as business incubation and industry aggregation to improve the cross-border e-commerce industry chain.
This January, Chongqing Xiyong Cross-border E-commerce Industrial Park, also known as eBay Park, and the Talent incubation base of Yubei Cross-border E-commerce Business School were inaugurated in Chongqing Xiyong Micro-Electronics Industry Park.
This marks the successful collaboration of Xiyong Micro-Electronics Industrial Park with eBay, which will help thousands of small and medium-sized enterprises walk to the overseas market.
With the help of eBay, from January to February, the park’s cross-border e-commerce import transaction volume completed 346 million yuan, accounting for 36.2% of the city’s total transaction volume, and the volume of new cross-border e-commerce exports was 2.735 billion yuan.
