Chongqing- The number of new COVID-19 infections has reached its peak in Chongqing recently, and the Chongqing government has joined hands with local enterprises to ensure efficient production through closed-loop management. After 20 days of the recent surge of Covid-19 in the city, 5096 of 6600 enterprises above the designated size, accounting for 77.2%, keep producing by closed-loop management, according to Chongqing Economic and Information Commission.

Nonstop production under closed-loop management

"Many devices we produce are used for COVID-19 detection," said Yu Nong, CEO of Keylights Biotechnology (Chongqing) Co., LTD. "We have conducted closed-loop management since November 10 and launched an emergency plan to ensure the daily needs of 60 employees on duty."

Keylights Biotechnology (Chongqing) Co., LTD., located in Chongqing Liangjiang New Area, is a global supplier of Contract Development and Manufacturing Organization (CDMO) for In Vitro Diagnostic (IVD) devices.

The company has a newly approved production automatic cup-splitting processing system, Alpha550, designed for Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) laboratory. PCR is a technology used in nucleic acid testing, where the device can be used for large-scale nucleic acid screening of the COVID-19 virus.

Each device can process 550 tubes of nucleic acid sampling per hour, bringing the daily processing capacity to 13,000 tubes. According to Yu, it will soon be put into the market on a large scale.

Another example of ensuring the production of key enterprises during the epidemic happened in Chongqing Hi-Tech Industrial Development Zone. "We will spare no effort to ensure the production of key enterprises," said an official of Chongqing Hi-Tech Industrial Development Zone.

On November 15, China Resources Microelectronics Limited (CR Micro) sought help from Chongqing Hi-Tech Industrial Development Zone, where it needed to purchase raw materials from Suining City, Sichuan Province, but having a delivery problem due to the epidemic's impact.

After receiving the request, the government immediately coordinated the trucks and vehicle permits. On the afternoon of November 16, materials were delivered to CR Micro.

"So far, 295 enterprises and over 50,000 employees in six industrial parks, including Xiyong Micro-electronics Industrial Park, implement closed-loop management to ensure production, and supermarkets, logistics, pharmacies, and gas stations maintain sufficient supplies."

Ensure safety and smooth cross-border passage

Problems also arose in Chongqing Lianglu Guoyuan Port Comprehensive Bonded Zone, where cross-border e-commerce goods were tied up for customs clearance during the pandemic.

"We review documents online and help enterprises to complete procedures to ensure 24 hours customs declaration," said an official in Lianglu Cuntan Customs.

Statistics show that during the Double Eleven shopping festival (from October 31 to November 14), Lianglu Cuntan Customs inspected and released 1.44 million retail import lists valued at 347 million yuan, up 15.4%.

The Chongqing cross-border highway shuttle bus, operated by Chongqing Highway Transportation ASEAN International Logistics Co., Ltd., connects western China with neighboring countries.

To ensure safety and smooth cross-border passage, the company contacted the border ports of Guangxi Province and Yunnan Province and adjusted the transportation plan in time according to the epidemic prevention measures for ports.

Since November, international logistics of the ASEAN has taken the initiative to connect with trading enterprises and optimize their logistics plans. Especially for key enterprises in automobile and motorcycle manufacturing and equipment manufacturing.

As of November 18, the cross-border highway shuttle buses of the New International Land-Sea Trade Corridor (ILSTC) had made 220 trips and shipped 477 TEUs of containers, up 24% year-on-year.
