Chongqing's Hustle and Bustle of Daily Life Returns丨Photo Story

Chongqing- "It's great that the familiar life is back," said Bai Qiuxia, a local citizen selecting vegetables at a grocery store in Yuzhong District. "Seeing the restoration of the city life, I am more than excited."

Chongqing is gradually opening up a wide range of service industry establishments closely related to citizens' lives after implementing more than 20 days of strict prevention and control measures. The city reported 260 newly confirmed local cases and 5,112 new asymptomatic carriers on December 3rd, a decrease from the previous day and primarily found in the high-risk areas and isolation facilities, according to the Chongqing Municipal Health Commission. 

The first batch of buses resumed operation at the Chaotianmen Bus Hub in Yuzhong District and slowly arrived at the station on December 2nd. After passengers got off, the staff carried out disinfection immediately.

"Today is the first day that the No. 871 bus resumes operation," said Tu Zhen, a bus driver of the No. 871. Although the passenger flow demand was not great on the first day, they still carried out the disinfection work and reminded passengers to wear masks and protect themselves.

As of December 2nd, 11 supermarkets, 209 pharmacies, and 30 bank outlets have been opened in Yuzhong District as public transportation is recovering in an orderly manner.

Major commercial complexes in the Jiefangbei-Chaotianmen and Daping business districts have resumed business operations, including Raffles City and Longfor Times Paradise Walk.

In addition, over 15 large-scale shopping malls, supermarkets, and critical business places have resumed business at Western (Chongqing) Science City, a powerful platform for scientific and technological innovation and an essential carrier for building a scientific and technical innovation center in Chongqing, as of December 3rd.

Among them, 434 township-level supply stores are operating, with sufficient supplies of living materials and stable prices, and 55 bus lines have resumed orderly.

Peng Shiquan, deputy director of the Chongqing High-tech Zone of the Western (Chongqing) Science City, said at the press conference on 3rd December,  that they have set up a special work team to guarantee the industrial chain and supply chain in resuming work and production.

The special work team will promote the smooth flow channels in goods transportation, ensure a sufficient supply of electric power, gas, and water, and coordinate the resumption of work and production of upstream and downstream enterprises. Pillar industries such as electronic information have achieved 100% resumption of production.
